‘General Hospital’ Rumors: Is Hayden Barnes’ Returning To Port Charles?
Will General Hospital bring Rebecca Budig’s character of Hayden Barnes back to Port Charles soon? Fans suspect this is the case, and many would say it’s long overdue. There certainly seem to be plenty of signs signaling Budig’s return could come soon.
Finn And Elizabeth Are Growing Close
As Soaps in Depth detailed, Hayden last left town because she feared Valentin. Nikolas actually set up a scenario to scare Hayden because he wanted her out of town, and his plan worked. Although Finn and Elizabeth have tried to find Hayden, she’s remained entirely off-the-grid. She left her daughter Violet with Finn and has not had contact with anybody.
Despite their love for Hayden, Finn and Elizabeth have grown quite close. For starters, they are keeping a massive secret together regarding what truly happened to Peter. In addition, they’ve both been mourning recent life experiences, with Franco’s death, the end of his engagement to Anna, and Chase’s illness. There are sparks between them, but they are both hesitant to move forward on that potential romantic connection. Having Hayden return to learn her sister Liz and ex Finn became romantically involved would be a soapy development.

General Hospital Brings Up Hayden’s Name Often
It’s often a telltale sign of a character popping up when someone’s name is mentioned often. Spencer is now back, and General Hospital fans saw that coming a mile away in part because his name came up so often. Will that turn out to be the case with Hayden too? Hayden and Spencer were close, and Spencer would surely prefer to see her reunite with Nikolas rather than have his father with Ava.
In fact, Spencer has gone to great lengths to drive a wedge between Nikolas and Ava. Hayden and Nikolas always had a complicated relationship, and Nik’s relationship with Ava is challenging too. Hayden’s return could shake things up even further in the Cassadine family.

Hayden’s Connected To Shawn’s Situation
General Hospital viewers have seen Shawn a lot lately after several years away. He was in Pentonville for supposedly shooting Hayden, although it was Nikolas who was responsible.
Just as Shawn was eligible for parole, Nikolas quietly squashed it. Shawn’s now free, thanks to Alexis and Molly, and he wants to prove his innocence. Pulling Hayden back into the mix of things now seems a natural next move.
Cameron Mathison’s Addition To General Hospital Provides Yet Another Reason
On top of all that, General Hospital spoilers have revealed the addition of Cameron Mathison to the cast. It’s not known for certain who Mathison will play, although it’s rumored he’ll be a not-so-dead Drew. Given how much All My Children fans loved Mathison and Budig together on that show, it seems virtually impossible to believe General Hospital would add Mathison without bringing back Budig.
So far, no General Hospital spoilers have confirmed Budig’s rumored return. The time certainly seems right, though, and viewers will anxiously wait for more news.
