Does Candace Cameron Bure Support Kirk’s Caroling Events?
Queen of Christmas Candace Cameron Bure is not feeling the holiday spirit. The Fuller House star spoke out about Kirk Cameron’s controversial caroling events. Her famous brother has been hosting several large events despite the COVID-19 restrictions in California. He claims that the events are peaceful protests against the state’s latest stay-at-home order.
Kirk wants to have his Christmas carols regardless of what’s going on in the world. His recent events have attracted hundreds of maskless protestors. Even though he’s the one hosting and promoting the events, his sister is getting the brunt of the backlash. She took to social media to speak out about the controversy.
Candace Cameron Bure breaks her silence
On the early morning hours of Thursday, December 24, the Full House alum took to Twitter to speak her peace. People accused Candace Cameron Bure of attending Kirk Cameron’s events. But she doesn’t appear in any of his videos shared on his Instagram page.
She also seemingly shared her thoughts on his events, which do not require face coverings or social distancing. Per Deadline, his latest event took place at a shopping mall. The Growing Pains actor got into the holiday spirit. He wore a Santa beard and a red beanie that read: “Ho. Ho. Ho.” Meanwhile, Candace has been hit with coal rather than the Christmas spirit.
“I did not attend any recent caroling events,” Candace tweeted. “Also, I choose to follow the greater guidelines by wearing a mask and social distance when I’m public.”
And there’s proof. A few days prior, Candace posted this video on Instagram. In the clip, she wore a black-and-red plaid face mask with a Santa hat. She captioned the post: “I’m always in the Christmas spirit 🎄🤶🏼! Make it cheery, even if it’s 2020 🤪”
But that wasn’t the case on Twitter. The If I Only Had Christmas star then revealed that she and her family have received disgusting messages as a result. While she doesn’t agree with Kirk’s events, she does feel that open communication about the pandemic is important.
“However, I don’t appreciate the vile tweets about my family,” Candace continued. “I believe respectful dialogue is the key to being heard. Stay safe.”

Her tweet received over 2,7000 likes. Fans flocked to Candace’s tweet to show appreciation for her post. But most fans didn’t agree with each other. Since Kirk and Candace have a conservative Christian following, most supported Kirk’s decision to hold these events.
While Kirk may be Candace’s brother, she’s not responsible for his actions. Since leaving Hollywood, the actor continues to make headlines. If it’s not for his Christian movies, it’s for his conservative views. As for Candace, she would rather not discuss politics since leaving The View in 2016.
She received social media backlash before
This comes after Candace Cameron Bure received backlash on Instagram. The Aurora Teagarden star posted a photo that showed her husband, Valerie Bure, with his hand on her breast. Her conservative Christian fanbase thought the photo was offensive. In an interview with the Confessions of Crappy Christian Podcast, Candace couldn’t believe that people were so critical over a 24-year marriage, per E! Online.
“The fact that we have fun and we flirt together, this is part of what makes our marriage work and why I’m not bored,” she said. “And this is something to be celebrated.”
The actress even joked about the “handsy” photo on her Instagram Stories. She remarked that her husband “can touch me anytime he wants.” Candace also said that she has an open conversation with her kids about intimacy. Her advice for her engaged son, Lev is to have fun, but only after marriage.
