‘Below Deck’: Hannah Ferrier Says She’s Envious Of Francesca Rubi
Hannah Ferrier has been watching Below Deck like the rest of us. Season 8 is the perfect escape right now. It gives viewers beautiful islands and blue waters. The new season is also promising lots of drama to come.
The Below Deck Mediterranean alum has been catching up with the series. She admitted that she’s envious of the new chief stew Francesca Rubi. Earlier this year, former chief stew Kate Chastain announced her departure from the series.
Francesca filled her role perfectly. Some fans think she’s a perfect mix of Kate and Hannah with her Aussie accent and perfectionism. As for Hannah, she’s feeling a bit envious.
Hannah Ferrier says Francesca got a better chef on her first season
It’s a known fact that most chefs on the Below Deck franchise are hard to handle. On Monday night, November 30, Hannah Ferrier exclaimed that she got stiffed when she was on the show. During Season 1 of Below Deck Mediterranean, she had to deal with chef Ben Robinson.
Meanwhile, chef Rachel Hargrove has gotten plenty of praise. Fans love her sense of humor. Others are just happy to see a thriving and successful female chef finally on the show. As for Hannah, she seemed kind of annoyed that Francesca got the perfect chef.
“What I would have given to work with Rachel,” Hannah tweeted. “Seriously – I put in 4 seasons and get a chef that microwaves steaks and Francesca is a newbie and gets the best chef in the history of the Below Deck franchise…?! Doesn’t seem fair…”
Francesca has been compared to Hannah. Some fans think they have the same voice. Rachel thanked Hannah for her kind words and congratulated her on the birth of her daughter.

“Thank you!!! It would have been great to work with you as well,” Rachel responded. “Congratulations on your new family.”
“Pleasure!! I would have LOVED your R rated humour – and probably matched it,” Hannah responded. “All the best for the rest of the season!”
She referred to the moment when Francesca said that she didn’t like Rachel’s dirty jokes. Francesca said in her confessional that she has a more “refined” taste. This comment did leave a bad taste in some viewers’ mouths. Some of them love Rachel’s candidness.
Below Deck fans reminded her of Chef Kiko
Some Below Deck fans took notice of Hannah’s tweet. Then, one fan reminded Hannah of her love for chef Hindrigo “Kiko” Lorran. Others agreed and said she failed to notice one of the underdogs of Season 5 of Below Deck Mediterranean. However, he didn’t work with her during her first season.
“Kiko was awesome!” she exclaimed.
Hannah and Kiko became friends during her final season of the series. His sweet demeanor and hard work ethic endeared him to the crew and the fans. They didn’t the way that Captain Sandy Yawn fired him. He left half-way through the season after a disastrous dinner.
While Rachel’s talents have been praised by the cast and crew, it won’t always be easy sailing. She admitted in an interview with Decider that she and Francesca have tension with one another. This might comes as a surprise to Hannah. Also, her relationship with bosun Eddie Lucas will become tense as time goes on.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree with Hannah that Francesca got an easy-going chef? Sound off below.
