Trista Sutter talks about Ryan’s struggles

She went to Instagram and Facebook to share what has been going on in their lives. Trista started her post out saying, “This week is usually one of my favorites. Creating memories with family, honoring traditions, filling our bellies with the tastiest of treats, and recognizing our blessings. I wrote a book on gratitude after all. It’s for that reason, though, that I haven’t posted. I know I should be thankful, but I don’t want to be fake. And, I’m struggling.”

She continued on saying, “This guy…my rock, my best friend, my hero, my love…is struggling.” Trista said Ryan has been struggling for months. He’s not struggling everyday and it’s not keeping him from doing everyday things, but it’s still enough.

Trista said, “Struggling to get answers. And this week, we got an answer that would normally be the best answer of all good answers. We found out that Ryan doesn’t have cancer.”

Ryan does not have cancer but still needs answers

Trista revealed they were scared Ryan might have lymphoma. They struggled to find a doctor to take them seriously and had to advocate hard for the scans they needed to get the diagnosis. They are grateful he does not have cancer. However, they remain distressed they still have no answers. She said, “Wanting to be able to fight for him to be cured instead of fighting for an answer. How messed up is that? Don’t worry, I know. It’s messed up.”

She also said she knows things could be worse. Trista said she is grateful she does not have loved ones dying from COVID, thankful her children are both healthy, thankful for health insurance and jobs.

Trista said, “But if I’m not posting or answering emails or emotional or disconnected, please remember that everyone is struggling in some way, behind closed doors. We are young-ish and blessed, but not immune. We lived a fairy tale on TV and have a great life for all intents and purposes, but answers would be nice.”

She went on to say she will continue to pray for her husband and to pray for answers. Trista also asked for fans to send up a prayer for Ryan if they believe in doing so.

She wrapped up her post with the following hashtags. Trista said, “#timetobereal #notyourtypicalThanksgiving #imdonewith2020.”

Thoughts and prayers go out to both Trista and Ryan through their struggles. Stay tuned for more updates.
