‘RHONJ’ Melissa Gorga Breaks Silence On Staged Teresa Reconciliation
For several seasons, RHONJ fans saw the dissension between Teresa Giudice and her sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga. They were constantly butting heads, and Teresa could be vicious. As the future of the hit Bravo series was being reevaluated, the in-laws suddenly reconciled. Although it took a long time, the Season 15 cast of The Real Housewives of New Jersey was announced.
Both Melissa and Teresa were on the roster, which led fans to believe that their reconciliation was staged. Now, Melissa is breaking her silence and setting the record straight. Keep reading for more details.
Melissa & Teresa Reconciliation Staged?
It has been a long and rough road for Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice. Teresa is an OG of RHONJ, with her sister-in-law and brother, Melissa and Joe, coming in Season 3. There was always tension as Teresa never felt that her brother was there enough for her or their parents. It seemed to turn a corner when Teresa and her now ex-husband, Joe Giudice, went to prison and needed extra help with their four girls. The Gorgas were right there, so the bond grew stronger. Sadly, it all fractured, and by Season 14, they could not even film together.
It looked like the franchise would undergo a complete reboot, and viewers were choosing between Teresa and Melissa. Then, like magic, the families reconciled. No one trusted their intentions, but they celebrated holidays together and claimed it was genuine. Recently, the cast list for Season 15 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey came out. The three returning OGs were Dolores Catania, Teresa Giudice, and Melissa Gorga. This further led fans to believe that the families only reconciled to ensure their spot in the new season, but Melissa disputed that:
“We’re not good actors. We’re not good at putting on a show, because we all just, like, spit it out.”
She broke her silence alongside her husband, Joe, while on their niece, Gia Giudice’s Casual Chaos podcast. They agreed that Teresa could not fake peace, and Joe Gorga went on to add that he was in shock about the initial reconciliation:
“I was like, ‘Is this real? This is my sister.’ I was very confused. Took me a minute. I’m like, ‘Is this a joke?'”
Making Peace
It all started with a text from the RHONJ OG. Gia Giudice joked that her uncle looked like a “ghost” upon getting a text from Teresa Giudice. However, he did not want to go backward or bring up all that they had been through. Joe Gorga knew his sister had been through a lot, and closing him out of her life made sense to her at the time:
“No matter what we did, or if we had an argument, she’s still my sister. I am a man… and I want to protect her, but she pushed me away. Whatever she was going through in life, I can’t blame her, because she went through a lot of things in life.”
Admittedly, Melissa Gorga was apprehensive about meeting with Teresa after what had gone down. However, it was Joe who believed that the timing was right. Although they claim that they are a happy family, fans are not buying it. They believe it is all for show and with good reason:
- They’ve reconciled for now, and then when filming starts they’ll hate each other again
- and Teresa and Melissa making up just for the cash
- They need the money so of course they “reconciled”.
