'The View' Joy Behar Admits Mood Makes Co-Hosts Insufferable

The View women often go back and forth, which is part of the show and why people enjoy watching it. Having differing opinions is what the hit talk show was based on when it was created by Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie. Unfortunately, some of the frustration does not end when the cameras stop rolling, according to OG Joy Behar. Keep reading for more details on what she had to say about her fellow hosts.

Everything Depends On Joy Behar’s Mood

Some viewers really like Joy Behar’s honesty and humor when it comes to The View. They think that she knows what she is talking about, and her transparency is quite rare. However, others cannot stand her and think that she is far too liberal and oftentimes rude. Not just to guests but to her fellow hosts, which can be extremely off-putting.

Now, the eighty-three-year-old is opening up about how her mood plays a big part in her behavior. Moreover, it makes it hard to stand her co-hosts, especially when they get off the stage. Joy discussed this with the show’s producer, Brian Teta, on Behind the Table, the podcast to accompany The View. It was there that she broke down why she can harbor anger toward Sunny Hostin, Whoopi Goldberg, Ana Navarro, Sara Haines, and Alyssa Farah Griffin:

“I think it varies. Some days, I love everybody. And some days I don’t. It has to do with my mood more than anything else, I think.”

She did note that “some days I come in, and everybody is on my last nerve.” So, in that respect, Joy can start off the show with a bad vibe, and maybe that translates on screen. She has been slammed by former co-hosts such as Meghan McCain. McCain stated that Joy Behar was horrible to her, especially when she came back from maternity leave. She made her feel incredibly unwanted, so she was grateful to leave.

People Love Joy

As controversial as Joy Behar can be, The View fans still seem to love her. Maybe it is because she speaks her mind and has very little tolerance. That is to be admired in 2026, and she just has no filter, which is also to be respected:

Of course, not everyone likes her and has no shame in saying that:

At the end of the day, Joy knows her moods and how they impact her relationships with her co-hosts. Yet, Brian Teta noted that when it’s allergy season, Joy is too tired to be mean, so maybe fans can expect a nicer version of the Williamsburg, New York native going forward.
