David Muir’s Neighbors Hint About Someone Special In His Life
David Muir of ABC World News Tonight fame is known for keeping his personal life private. However, a neighbor recently hinted at someone special in the journalist’s life. This also comes out after he sent a holiday greeting of sorts to fans.
David Muir Is Considered One Of The United States’ Most Visible Newscasters
Muir was born in Syracuse, New York, and grew up in Onondaga Hill. Muir would later earn his Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism at Ithaca College.
Currently considered one of the most visible journalists in the United States, Muir is known to many as the anchor of ABC World News Tonight. He is also known for his work with 20/20.
While helping to break various news stories with fans throughout his career, Muir is known for being private about his own everyday life. However, an inside source recently shared that he might have a special someone in his life.
According to The Daily Mail, Muir splits his time between his New York City apartment and a lakeside home in Skaneateles, an upscale town in New York’s Finger Lakes region.
Built in 1890, the property has around six bedrooms, two kitchens, three bathrooms, a fireplace, a pool, and classic architecture. He bought the home back in 2019 for around $7 million. However, there could be more to Muir’s personal life than it seems.
Speaking with the outlet, a neighbor, Cheryl Foster, also shared that Muir might have someone special in his life. She noted, “I know he has a dog,” before reportedly getting defensive when asked if Muir had a partner. As she put it, however, “It’s no one’s business.”
Fans who have followed Muir on social media are familiar with Muir’s furry friend, Axel. As previously reported, Muir recently shared two photos on Instagram as a seasonal gift for fans. In the first photo, Muir could be seen looking through an ornate house’s window. Axel appeared in the second photo, looking at a reindeer decoration.
The ABC World News Tonight Anchor Has Had A Long History With Upstate New York
As mentioned, Muir is a native of upstate New York, starting his career as a newscaster in Syracuse. When he was young, he would visit local newsrooms with his father, Ronald. He would become an intern at the age of 14.
While on Live with Kelly and Mark, Muir previously shared, “I was a total nerd. In the backyard, everyone was playing. And I’d be out there too, but then I’d be like, ‘I gotta go inside, it’s time for the news!’ So I’d go in and watch the news.”

“I’m grateful to everybody in that newsroom because, this is what we all have to remember, this was just a kid with a dream, and they let me show up. And there was a new news director, I got in when there was no boss. That was the only reason a kid at that age could get in.”
