Disney Reveals Who Really Got Jimmy Kimmel Suspended From ABC
Jimmy Kimmel Live was abruptly suspended for nearly a week in September. Many disgruntled viewers called for ABC to cancel the show entirely. Now, Disney has revealed more details about the suspension. Keep reading to find out who really got the show yanked from the air.
Jimmy Kimmel Live Suspended Over Comments
Conservative podcast host and political activist Charlie Kirk was shot in September. He was speaking during an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on September 10 when he was killed. The murder sparked mixed reactions on social media. Previous problematic comments the podcaster made resurfaced in the wake of his death.

Jimmy Kimmel addressed the murder on his late-night ABC talk show. He came under fire after suggesting the killer was a Trump supporter. Calls immediately began for him to lose his job, as several non-famous people did for their social media comments about Charlie Kirk’s murder.
ABC abruptly yanked Jimmy Kimmel Live from the air and revealed that the talk show had been temporarily suspended. The late-night show returned after nearly a week. It went off the air again a few weeks later when an important member of the show died.
A new report revealed more details about what led ABC to suspend Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show.

Disney Reveals Who Really Got Show Yanked From The Air
Fans thought that Jimmy Kimmel was done for sure after ABC suspended him. However, he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The comedian recently renewed his contract for another year. The new deal keeps Jimmy Kimmel Live on the air through at least May 2027.
The late-night show will continue, possibly due to a huge ratings bump when it returned from suspension. The Hollywood Reporter uncovered new information about why the show was suspended in the first place. According to the outlet, two major media companies played a huge role in getting the show yanked from television.
Nexstar and Sinclair own many local ABC affiliates across the country. Both companies are Republican-leaning with conservative views. They reportedly put pressure on ABC to preempt Jimmy Kimmel Live in response to Jimmy Kimmel’s comments about Charlie Kirk.
As a result, Disney made the decision to pull the show from the air for a few days. At one point, Sinclair executives promised Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, an apology from Jimmy Kimmel but she didn’t want one.
The new information about the suspension came amid a battle between the networks and their local affiliates. The FCC is currently looking into the relationship between the two amid rising tensions. In a filing with the FCC, Disney used Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension as an example that the regulations in place work and that no further intervention from the FCC is necessary.
“These and other examples make clear that the regime is working in compliance with the FCC’s rules and that no further regulatory intervention is warranted,” Disney wrote in the filing.
Tell us in the comments if you agree with Disney’s decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel Live or whether the local station owners overstepped.

Disney made a big mistake in bringing Jimmy Kimmel back. He is an insensitive POS that does nothing but chase ratings and cares very little about people’s feelings and most of all the truth. It won’t take long for this decision to bite them in the ass.
I totally agree with this comment. Just like all his colleagues his monologues overstep decency. Disney should get a grip. What was once decent about Disney has since gone by the wayside.
So you fired him because Trump said so get real Freedom of speech particularly he has the right
I do not agree with Disney’s decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel Live..The local station owners definitely overstepped.
so say you! Remember freedom of speech?
freedom of speech doesn’t protan to an insensitive person, people like children might watch this and thing celebrating a death is cool, if my children saw this show I would definitely sue ABC, and not for merely a few million dollars, but billions
That’s why the show is on late night because your kids should be in bed or are you a neglectful mother.

Remember, free speech is the speech you don’t like. Censorship is supposed to be unamerican. But it seems 2025 is turning into 1984.
Remember that “free speech” only applies to FEDERAL/GOVERNMENT intervention. The US Government is restricted from stopping you from saying anything you want. It doesn’t apply in any private business or corporate decisions.
