“When one of my horses dies, we dig a giant hole really deep in one of my fields — we have a pet cemetery — and the horse is wrapped in a clean white linen sheet and very carefully dropped down into this giant, lovely grave. I want to go there. It’s not going to hurt anyone. It’s my property. These coffin things and all that stuff? No way,”

i don’t find nothing odd about Martha Stewart’s request first of all if it’s her land her last rights her body who’s it really going to really bother it will be actually better for the land and environment because of the actual deco positioning of her remains the way she has requested is actually better for the soil to be. as able to naturally neutralize and make the soil rich and healthy to the reality of her physical outter shell her spirit leaves behind will deteriate and dissolve naturally as into mother nature’s natural way rather than taking years to disinectats the wood of a coffin then the linen or material that lines the coffin and the to her body by then thousands of worms and insects have nest and eaten her remains and only prolongs the natural course of what really is really natural at all I’m just saying though just my personal outlook on the whole situation I wouldnr mind being buried on my own land the very same way actually!
