Bravo Axing Fan Favorite ‘Real Housewives’ In Shocking Twist
It appears that Bravo may be axing fan favorite Real Housewives franchise in a shocking twist. So, why might this be happening, and how soon could the shows come to an end? Keep reading for more details on the situation.
Bravo Axing Fan Favorite Real Housewives
The Real Housewives franchise continues to grow, with Rhode Island as the latest place where the show is being filmed. Fans are excited to watch it expand, as New Jersey is still up in the air, and no casting announcements have been made for Season 15. New York City is also changing, as it appears another reboot is underway. Orange County is preparing to enter its twentieth season, with Vicki Gunvalson coming back full-time. Yet, the long-running franchise may be coming to an end, but why?

Per an insider close to The Real Housewives and the network, it is all about the financials. Maintaining these shows has become far too costly for NBCUniversal and Bravo, and they have been inundated with legal problems. That has made it less than desirable to film over the years:
“NBC doesn’t want the headache anymore. The brand has become more about courtrooms than catfights.”
Cast member Miami, Florida’s Alexia Nepola’s ex, Todd Nepola, recently sued the network for millions of dollars. RHOBH star Erika Jayne has long been under fire for her husband, Tom Girardi’s, dirty dealings. He stole millions of dollars from his clients when he was a lawyer and has since been sentenced to jail time. Many marriages have also crumbled as a result of filming the hit Bravo shows, and the network has faced many accusations.

Former cast members have gone after executive producer and network face, Andy Cohen, claiming he abused drugs and favored certain stars. RHONY’s own Leah McSweeney and Bethenny Frankel have done their best to take Bravo and Andy down with little to no avail. Brandi Glanville of Beverly Hills and RHUGT fame also came under fire for sexual assault. She clapped back, but nothing has come of her claims.
When Will It All Fall Down?
As of now, it is alleged that Bravo could be closing down shop on The Real Housewives over the next two years as they attempt to phase it out. Currently, the network says these rumors are false. However, time will tell what is going to happen, as many fans have said some Real Housewives shows have run their course. After RHOC came to an end for Season 19, viewers stated that they would be happy if it never returned:
- God this show is horrible
- Nothing personal— but the juice just ain’t juicing anymore. Some fresh Oranges, please!!!
As for the rest, no one was all that upset by the possibility of cancellation:
- They should. Its to scripted at this point.
- It was only a matter of time………
Some suggested that cast changes could make all the difference and keep The Real Housewives around for a long time coming. Do you think Bravo will axe the franchise, or is it just pure speculation? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
