‘Shark Week’ Details: Get The Schedule And More
This week marks the 37th annual celebration of the ocean’s top predator as The Discovery Channel brings back its popular series Shark Week. The fantastic line-up brought over 25 million viewers last year. The special features include thrilling footage and groundbreaking scientific discoveries of different shark species. Shark Week Is Here
Shark Week kicks off a week-long special on The Discovery Channel, featuring the ocean’s top predators. It is a popular fan favorite. This year will include 20 hours of new content of fans’ favorite ocean predator, including Dancing with Sharks, to start the week. The show will feature “An unprecedented underwater dance competition between expert divers and their shark partners.” The dances are sure to thrill fans.
This summer also sees the 50th anniversary celebration of the cult classic Jaws. Discovery will, of course, be celebrating with special programming. Biologist Tom Hird and ecologist Michelle Jewell will be featured on Surviving Jaws. The show will see the pair dive with great whites to answer the question: Does skinny-dipping attract the apex predators? Hopefully no one ends up eaten.
This year, Shark Week sees the return of some fan favorites. Air Jaws is back, featuring new expeditions in search of the world’s biggest breaching sharks. In the Eye of the Storm will feature first responders as they help victims of shark attacks along Florida’s Gulf Coast. When can fans see their favorite ocean predators this year? The Discovery Channel’s hit special Shark Week kicked off Sunday, July 20, at 8 p.m. ET on Discovery. The special will run through July 26 at 8 p.m. ET. Fans can watch live on The Discovery Channel or stream on DirecTV Stream. Fans can also watch on Discovery+ and HBO Max.
