‘Teen Mom’ Catelynn & Tyler Blast Carly’s Parents In Open Letter
Teen Mom: The Next Chapter stars Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra are blasting Carly’s parents in an open letter. They were blocked by Brandon and Teresa Davis and could not see Carly for her last two birthdays. Now, once again, they have had enough. Keep reading for more details.
Catelynn & Tyler Blast Carly’s Parents
Since Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra placed their firstborn, Carly, up for adoption, they have been struggling. The Teen Mom couple chose Brandon and Teresa Davis as the adoptive parents, and it was supposed to be open. Unfortunately, over the last few years, things have become rough, and Carly’s parents cut ties with Cate and Tyler. They blocked them, and that has caused the reality duo to lash out. In the last few episodes of TM, Cate reached out to Dr. Drew Pinsky in hopes that he could get through to Brandon and Teresa. He was able to relay a message from Carly’s parents to Cate and Tyler.

They can send Carly gifts, in fact, that is encouraged, yet one part was off-putting. Brandon and Teresa shared a clip of Carly singing for Catelynn and Tyler to hear, but they had to do it on camera. When Cate asked for a private link, the couple declined. This was frustrating and confusing to them, and they admitted they never should have put Carly up for adoption. They have released an open letter to Brandon and Teresa via social media, expressing confusion and anger. It was a response to Carly’s song being sent to them as a “gift,” but only played under conditions.

The Teen Mom couple shared these words:
“You get upset that we speak about our adoption story publicly, but simultaneously want us to share a very personal song regarding our adoption story nationally on television for the whole world.”
They did not understand why Brandon and Teresa wanted to keep Carly private, but then put her music out for everyone to hear. Catelyn and Tyler continued:
“It’s confusing because you don’t want us to have the song ourselves (even though that’s what Carly wants), but yet you want the whole world to have it & are using TV to do so (even though you’ve claimed many times that you do not want to be a part of TV).”
Making Matters Worse
It is understandable that Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra would be upset that they could not listen to Carly’s song privately. However, taking it to social media is only making matters worse. Brandon and Teresa Davis will have more ammunition to keep Carly away because nothing can stay between the “parents.” After Teen Mom fans saw the letter they shared, they had a lot of thoughts:
- Either they wanna see that child or not, just shut up already and stop pissing these people off. You’re never gonna see that girl again if you don’t stop.
- When will Tyler learn that some things are better left unsaid?
- They need to let it go, the girl will be 18 in no time, let her make that decision if she wants to have a relationship with them when the time is right.
They did apologize to Brandon and Teresa for anything that they may have said or done to hurt them or Carly. Finally, Cate and Tyler agreed that they would stop talking about their adoption story while remaining advocates. They also asked to deal with things in an adult manner, between both parties.
Do you think Catelynn and Tyler will ever truly stop talking about their adoption story, or is this just to appease Brandon and Teresa? More so, are they still digging a grave by posting public letters? Let us know your thoughts in the comments and stream Teen Mom on Paramount+.
