‘Today’ Savannah Guthrie Takes Jenna Bush Hager’s Job
Today Show co-host Savannah Guthrie is taking over Jenna Bush Hager’s job, but what is the reason, and for how long? More so, how does Jenna feel about being replaced by Savannah? Keep reading for further details on the situation.
Savannah Guthrie Takes Jenna Bush Hager’s Job
Being a part of the Today Show family, Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager have worked together many times. The anchors seem to be very close and even rallied around Hoda Kotb when she announced her exit in late 2024. It broke the hearts of her colleagues and viewers, but she knew she had to do what was best for herself and her kids. She also exited the morning show that she co-hosted with Jenna, previously with Kathie Lee Gifford. Since then, Jenna has helmed her own show with a bevy of guests sitting beside her. Now, Savannah seems to be taking Jenna’s job.
She will be the co-host on Jenna & Friends, so she will help run the show. Essentially, Savannah will be in Jenna’s old seat as Hoda Kotb was the lead host and Jenna was by her side as Kathie Lee’s replacement. Fortunately, it worked very well, and viewers were happy with the duo. Savannah will start her run beginning on May 19th, 2025, which is interesting. It would make sense that she may fill in for Jenna as she heads to her first book festival in Nashville at the end of May. As of now, nothing has been announced regarding whether Jenna will even take time off.

As much as Today Show fans love Savannah Guthrie, they do not care for her alongside Jenna Bush Hager. Viewers preferred other celebrity co-hosts such as Bowen Yang and Scarlett Johansson. Regardless of what Jenna & Friends fans want, Savannah will be there the whole week. She has the experience, so this should be a fun time. Maybe she will see the criticism regarding her on the show and bring in more spunk.
Not The Right One
Jenna & Friends is thrilled to welcome Savannah Guthrie to the show. The Today Show host has been a fan favorite for a very long time. However, once they learned that she would be sitting beside Jenna Bush Hager, they were less than thrilled. Although they love Jenna and Savannah, they have admitted they do not care for them together:
- Love Savanah, Love Jenna, but I don’t love them together.
- Love Savannah. Don’t always love when you’re together. Always talking over each other and your professionalism goes out the window.
- This will be like being in middle school. Both trying to get more attention than the other one
- Can we have Scar Jo back? Or Ego instead?
- These two over talk each other during Pop Start on Today Show. I hope that doesn’t happen next week!!
Hopefully, Savannah shows another side when she co-hosts, and fans are thrilled with the combo.
