But it seems there’s more to the story amid all the speculation about his conviction. Keep reading to see what happened.
Gold Rush: Who Is Tony Beets?
Tony is one of the most successful gold miners in Klondike. He was from the Netherlands and later moved to Canada. He played a significant role in Gold Rush, owning the Scrivener Creek Claim, which Parker eventually leased. He’s had some ups and downs in the gold mining business. Season 15 was quite a huge season for Tony. His gold mining operation at Indian River earned him over $750,000 in just one week. Tony was able to haul 5,290 ounces of gold by the end of the season, making it one of his most successful excavations. Reports claimed that his overall haul cost over $14 million. But despite his success, Tony got into a controversy after reports claimed that he was arrested.

Tony Was Indeed Arrested
Numerous claims previously surfaced saying that Tony Beets was sent to jail. However, it was later discovered that he never spent time behind bars. But the Gold Rush star did get arrested. It was reported that Tony was charged with environmental violations while filming the show. It was revealed that Tony violated the Yukon Waters Act after allowing his team to pour gasoline on a pond, which eventually caught fire. The illegal activity resulted in Tony taking responsibility and cleaning up the mess he and his team had made. Tony was later allowed to mine again, but it seems he’s not the only gold miner in the team who got into trouble with the law.
Todd Hoffman also faced legal issues during the show. The former Gold Rush star faced lawsuits for disturbing the residents around the mining site in Park County. It was also one of the main reasons why he departed from the show, aside from wanting to pursue other careers.
