‘GMA’ Anchors Could Get Fired Soon
Are the GMA anchors on the verge of getting fired from their posts? There are allegedly major changes coming to the show after Disney shared that around 200 people would be laid off. So, how will this impact the long-running, hit morning show? Keep reading for further details.
GMA Anchors Could Get Fired Soon
It has been a morning staple since 1975, but could major changes be coming to GMA? The hit talk show has had many anchors over the years but has always kept viewers engaged. They love waking up to news, candid interviews, and more. The main three, Robin Roberts, Michael Strahan, and George Stephanopoulos, have shared their lives and struggles with fans. Robin had faced breast cancer and a bone marrow transplant. Viewers also watched her marry her longtime partner, Amber Laign. As for Michael, his daughter, Isabella, also had a cancerous brain tumor. Her journey was followed as fans were cheering her on from home.
So much has happened with these three anchors, and when one goes missing, there are a plethora of questions. Now, it seems the stabilizing morning show could see some major changes, but luckily, it does not have to do with the core three. Rather, GMA3 will be the one up in the air. Due to poor ratings for the show, executives are thinking about changing the show. This could mean the end for DeMarco Morgan and Eva Pilgrim, as they are allegedly on the chopping block. Previously, Michael Strahan and Sara Haines hosted it.

Sara Haines is now on The View as a panelist, but after them came Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes. They were a great team, but their affair caused waves and ultimately landed them out of a job. Now, GMA3 is not doing what the network had hoped. An insider shared this tidbit:
“’GMA3′ won’t be there at the end of the summer.”
There could be new hosts, or there is another big possibility. GMA hosts Robin Roberts, Michael, and George Stephanopoulos could take over that timeslot. On Tuesday, April 1st, a spokesperson shared this intel:
“What we have said from the beginning is that we are unifying all day parts under the GMA umbrella and team and that includes seeing all members of the extended GMA family in the third hour.”
Scary Times
ABC has already laid off staff from GMA3, with all production under the GMA umbrella. It does not appear that fans would miss the third hour or even the morning show if it all was axed. They have expressed their disdain on social media after the news broke about layoffs and possible cancellations:

- Don’t let the door hit ya!
- People are ditching traditional news outlets & consumers are streaming. Network news is going the way print newspapers.
It is sad that this could be the end of GMA3, but maybe a revamping is just what the show needs. Fans seem to want something new and different. Hopefully, if GMA3 goes in a different direction, there will still be a place for DeMarco Morgan and Eva Pilgrim.
