‘Pioneer Woman’ Ree Drummond Shares Story Of ‘Home Intruder’

Ree Drummond of The Pioneer Woman fame recently saw dinner and a movie turn into a shocking moment for her. Dealing with an unexpected visit, Drummond was even shown using her cooking skills to come up with a makeshift weapon. Notably, the Food Network star shared the story with fans on social media.
The Pioneer Woman Was Enjoying A Classic Rom-Com Before Getting A Surprise
Anne Marie “Ree” Drummond is a food writer and television personality who initially became known for her blog, The Pioneer Woman, which would also serve as her own nickname. Starting in 2011, Drummond would also headline her own Food Network series of the same name.
This has brought Drummond’s culinary skills to a broader audience. However, harking back to her original blog, she’s also known to share videos of her cooking with fans on social media.
As noted by Taste of Country, one recent social media share ended up an interesting story, with Ree herself getting a surprise. Taking to Instagram Stories, she was sautéing while watching the 1994 comedy Muriel’s Wedding.
Ree became so into the movie that she began to sing and dance along to a scene including, ABBA’s “Fernando,” with the group’s music featured heavily throughout the film. During this time, however, someone unexpectedly walked in.
Ree then turned around to see who was behind her. The television personality even brandished her fork, which she had been using to stir potatoes, as a makeshift weapon.
Fortunately, the “home intruder” turned out to be Ree’s husband Ladd, who had come home from work a little early. The couple then started to laugh at the moment.
Ree Drummond Shared Videos Of What Happened, Even Set To ABBA Music
Following this, Ree decided to share the moment with fans on social media. In one post, Ree noted, “Look at how ready I was to use my fork,”
Some of the posts were set to ABBA’s “Fernando.” However, another post included the actual audio of what had happened. At this, Ree wrote the caption, “Actual audio of Ladd coming home early, the butthead.”
For fans who might not have initially caught the Muriel’s Wedding connection, Ree shared clips of her watching the movie as well. This included the “Fernando” sequence and the “Dancing Queen” ending.
Ree notably wrote, “I first watched this in the mid-1990’s and it made me fall in love with Toni Colette and Rachel Griffiths. They’re just so good.” She later continued, “Of all the movies in the universe, this is in my top ten for sure.”
Ree had married Ladd back in 1996. Ladd is a member of the Osage County cattle ranching Drummond family. Often, in media, Ree refers to Ladd as “the Marlboro Man.” Over the years, the Drummonds have opened various restaurants and stores.
Together, the two have five children together. As previously reported, Ree became a grandmother following the birth of her daughter Alex Drummond Scott’s baby Sofia this past December.
