Was Litia Garr Supposed To Be The Next ‘Bachelorette’?
ABC has put The Bachelorette on pause for the year. No one knows if or when it will return. But some fans think that Bachelor runner-up Litia Garr was supposed to be the lead before the spinoff was shelved. Could the rumor be true? Keep reading for more about the speculation.
Litia Garr Faces Heartbreak On The Bachelor
The Bachelor franchise is meant to be entertaining, dramatic, but also hopeful. Viewers love it when the show ends in a happy-ever-after engagement. But the show also breaks several hearts along the way. While the final rose winner is (usually) beyond happy, the runner-up is left picking up the pieces.
Litia Garr and Juliana Pasquarosa were the final two women on Season 29 of The Bachelor. They both thought Grant Ellis was going to choose them, but only Juliana was correct. Despite telling Litia that he loved her, Grant dumped her and sent her home.
Grant then proposed to Juliana and she happily accepted. They are already talking wedding plans. Where does Litia go from here?
Bachelor Nation Fans Think She Was A Plant
Litia revealed during the show that she was keeping a huge secret from Grant. She comes from a Mormon family and her religion is important to her. She finally did tell him, but many viewers didn’t see how they could overcome such a huge difference in beliefs.
For that and other reasons, some fans of the show didn’t think Litia was there for the right reasons. Some fans even accused her of clout chasing after she formed a close friendship with Bachelor Season 27 winner Kaity Biggar.
One fan took to social media to discuss why Lita was really on the show. “Litia is an ABC plant. They are promoting her for some reason,” they wrote. Another fan speculated that it might have to do with The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives, which is expected to air Season 2 on ABC this summer.
Was Litia Meant To Be The Next Bachelorette?
Not everyone doubted Litia’s motives going into the show. But some think she will capitalize on being Grant’s runner-up. One fan wrote, “I do think Litia is going to be getting out there now trying to get a spot on something else. I wouldn’t be surprised if she would want to be a bachelorette.”
Litia Garr as the next Bachelorette was something a lot of viewers petitioned for after watching Grant Ellis break her heart on The Bachelor.

Litia Garr could still have a chance as the next Bachelorette lead, but probably not this year. ABC left the show off its spring/summer schedule. The spinoff is on pause for the foreseeable future. When ABC does bring it back for Season 22, Litia Garr may not be as strong of a candidate as some other alum from the franchise.
