‘Bachelorette’ Katie Thurston Hospitalized After Getting Married

Bachelorette star Katie Thurston finally tied the knot in a surprise ceremony on March 22nd. The happy news is a welcome reprieve from the breast cancer diagnosis she recently shared with fans. But the fairytale wedding was short-lived. She shared on social media that she was back in the hospital with her husband by her side. Keep reading for all the details on the hospital visit.
Bachelorette Star Hospitalized After Surprise Wedding
Katie Thurston revealed that she was dating comedian Jeff Arcuri in June 2024. Two months later, they were engaged to be married. They didn’t wait long to make it legal. The couple were married in an intimate wedding on Saturday, March 22nd.
The dating fast track isn’t new to Katie Thurston, though. Bachelor Nation viewers met her when she was a contestant on Season 25 of The Bachelor. She didn’t find love with Matt James but went on to star on The Bachelorette.

Her season ended with an engagement to Blake Moynes. The couple split up after less than a year. She then dated another contestant from her season, John Hersey. That relationship didn’t last long. She dated other people before finding her now-husband.
The engagement and wedding come amid a really tough time for Katie Thurston. She was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. She lost her beloved cat, Tommy, last year. The reality star revealed in June that she had been sexually assaulted months earlier and was trying to get her accused rapist put in jail. Unfortunately, the DA declined to press charges.
Jeff Arcuri supported her through all of these trials and tribulations. He continues to support her through breast cancer treatment. He said in a recent interview that her cancer battle created a strong bond between them, and that’s why they decided to move up the wedding.

Katie Thurston & Husband Toast To Married Life
The former Bachelorette met her husband when they did a comedy tour together. Since her time on the reality show, Katie has focused on a career in comedy. She clearly shares the same sense of humor with her husband.
She posted a video on Instagram celebrating her honeymoon in an unusual location: Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. The Oregon native moved to NYC from Los Angeles earlier this year. Her husband is based on the East Coast when he isn’t traveling for his comedy shows.
Instead of jetting off for a fancy honeymoon, Katie and her husband celebrated in the hospital. She shared a video from a hospital room and an IV in her arm. “So, Jeff and I are celebrating our honeymoon with some drinks,” she said before the two picked up their drinks and toasted.

She didn’t reveal why she was in the hospital. She previously told Us Weekly that she starts treatment for breast cancer on March 27th. It’s unclear if her post-wedding hospital visit was to prepare for that or something else.
While the Bachelorette star has a hard journey in front of her, she has her husband by her side through it all.
