According to the publication, Shatner celebrated the charity back in 1990. He had reportedly been inspired by watching handicapped children receive treatment with horse therapy.

The charity’s website also shared some information about the event. As it shared, “On one special Saturday evening each year, William Shatner brings together world-class reining horses and riders in breathtaking slides and spins as they compete for top honors in their respective classes.” It was also noted that the proceeds go to charity.

“Your life’s energy, the soul energy of your body is a product of health. If you’re sick, you can’t be energetic. You’re dying. So, my luck has been, I’ve been healthy all my life.”

Back in 2018, the actor shared similar sentiments with NBC News. At the time, he noted, “My life has been so lucky — I’ve been so fortunate in terms of health, which is really the basis of everything. Your health and your energy is partially your doing, but partially accidental — genetic and accidental.”
