Jennifer’s rough childhood led to her unhealthy relationship with food. Her father was a drug addict, and her mother left her at the age of five. She later had a stepfather, who was abusive toward her. The My 600-Lb Life star got pregnant with Marissa at 16, and her life spiraled out of control. Even with all the difficulties, Jennifer was determined to turn her life around. She eventually dropped enough weight to qualify for bariatric surgery.
She left the show at 426 pounds and was filled with positivity. She later returned for another update, where she revealed that she dropped herself to 382 lbs. Meanwhile, her daughter, Marissa, had a successful journey with Dr. Now. She was able to drop 232 pounds, bringing her down to 242 pounds.
Marissa Kept In Touch With The Fans
Marissa Jess has kept the followers in touch about her weight loss journey after her episode. She has uploaded photos of herself showing off her healthy physique. In November 2024, the My 600-Lb Life star showed a big smile to the camera during a trip with her wife, Gina Qtararo Joch. They currently live in Tampa, Florida. Marissa also revealed that she currently works as a clinical nurse specialist at BayCare. She has yet to share her current weight, but many of her pictures indicate that she’s still on the right track on her physical journey.

While Marissa actively shares updates online, Jennifer Jess appears to have left social media for good. Her last photo was from 2018, though it shows that the My 600-Lb Life star continued to stay healthy after the show. There are also reports claiming that Marissa and Jennifer’s relationship went downhill due to their separation, which may be the reason why Marissa doesn’t share updates about her mom.
