Which Daytime Soaps Are Preempted This Week? Details

Fans of soap operas and daytime dramas regularly tune into their favorite shows to keep up with all the ongoing drama. However, a few soap viewers will see their favorite shows get preempted this week. Details have recently come out explaining why this is happening and which shows are being impacted. Notably, one of the soaps involved even teased the preemptions in a video on social media.
These Soaps Won’t Be Available For Streaming
When it comes to soaps, fans have reached an interesting era. Many classic soaps are still going strong over the decades. Meanwhile, CBS recently unveiled a new daytime drama with Beyond the Gates.
However, this Thursday and Friday, fans might not get to see some of their favorite soaps. A few soaps will be preempted for a big event.

As noted by Soap Opera Digest, it’s time for March Madness, also known as the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Sports fans will now see the event take over CBS Daytime.
Unfortunately, this will come at the expense of soap fans. This means CBS soaps including Beyond the Gates, The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless will be preempted. All three shows will be impacted on Thursday, March 20, and Friday, March 21.
March Madness is a national preemption. This means the shows won’t air in any time zone. They also won’t be available on streaming, either.
This means that fans saw each soap end on a cliffhanger this past Wednesday. The shows will resume their usual storylines this upcoming Monday.
The Young & The Restless Also Teased The Preemptions With A Special Guest Star
That said, things are already getting complicated on these various soaps. Beyond the Gates will see After Dani breaks up into an ex’s home, she is helped by Pam and confronted by Hayley. Meanwhile, Leslie and Eva are set to join forces.
On The Bold and the Beautiful, Luna meets her grandmother Sheila, which may develop into a powerful alliance. Meanwhile, Forrester Creations may return back to the family, but the reasons behind it might come as a twist. All the while, the characters develop opposing views on the company’s fate.

With The Young and the Restless, Traci confronts Alan, Lily looks into Damian’s true motives, and Nick teams up with Sharon. In addition, things may start to blossom between Adam and Chelsea.
Notably, CBS Sports poked fun at the preemption on social media. In a post, they shared a video of the Blue Blob, the Xavier University mascot, inserting itself into a tense moment on The Young and the Restless.
As the post shared in the caption, “To be fair, the Blue Blob is irresistible. #marchmadness.” Notably, the page for The Young and the Restless also shared the clip, presumably reminding fans that the soap would be taking a little break.
