Grant Ellis has been looking for love on reality TV since he joined Jenn Tran’s season of The Bachelorette. But is it really a wife he wants or is there another motive? Bachelor fans speculate about what his true desire really is.

Grant Ellis Is Close To Finding A Wife

Like many men his age, Grant Ellis decided he was ready to settle down once other aspects of his life fell into place. The New Jersey native, 31, had to put his dream of playing professional basketball aside after a career-ending injury. He moved to Houston, Texas, and began a successful career as a day trader. But he felt something was missing.

He joined Season 21 of The Bachelorette, hoping to find love with Jenn Tran. However, their connection wasn’t strong enough and she sent him home in Week 6. In an unexpected move, ABC tapped Grant as the next Bachelor lead. While he was generally liked by fans, he wasn’t as popular as some of the other eliminated contestants.

Grant’s season of The Bachelor premiered in January. After a few weeks of handing out roses, he’s left with his final three women: Juliana Pasquarosa, Litia Garr, and Zoe McGrady. The journey to the final rose continues after this week’s Women Tell All special.

Grant Ellis says he’s on the show to find love and marriage, but does he have an ulterior motive?

Bachelor Fans Question His True Motives

Many Bachelor Nation viewers accused Grant Ellis of joining reality TV only to promote his music career. However, another accusation has surfaced about his true motives. One fan of the franchise took to social media to call Grant out for being hyper-focused on having kids.

In fact, the fan thinks that Grant Ellis doesn’t want a wife. He wants an incubator for his future children. “I’m getting a little turned off by how Grant works in wanting to have kids and find someone who will be a good mother into almost all of his conversations and interview segments,” the Bachelor Nation fan wrote on social media.

A lot of other fans watching this season agreed. Check out some of the other comments:

  • “I don’t think he’s anywhere near being in love with any of these women”
  • “Well none of these women are ready to be a mom so jokes on him”
  • “Grant is just saying things either the producers tell him or what he thinks they want him to say… All the reasons he says he wants a marriage are all superficial and surface level understanding of what a marriage is.”
  • “I just keep getting the feeling that he wants to find a woman who will do the chores and have like 5 kids while he attempts to make a SoundCloud career for himself”
  • “I feel like he wants a trad wife”
  • “He is the cringiest bachelor we have ever had”
  • “I had the same take! It gives, “I need a vessel!!!””

But more than one fan stood up for Grant Ellis, pointing out that being on the same page about kids is an important part of the dating process. One person left a reminder that not everything viewers see on reality TV is real. “We only see what they edit and put on the screen,” they wrote.

What Grant Has Said About Having Kids

Grant has absolutely been open on The Bachelor about his desire to have kids. But he’s also not in any rush. He told Access Hollywood that it will happen when it happens.

“When you foster a relationship with somebody, it happens in its own time. So you can’t go in there, like, ‘I want to have kids in one year,'” – Grant Ellis, Access Hollywood.
