No matter the other endeavors Dolly Parton has pursued, music has been key in her life and something she has always been immensely passionate about. She just collaborated with Sabrina Carpenter on a “Please, Please, Please” country remix. Additionally, she worked on a song with The Wiggles so she is keeping in touch with her musical side. When her husband, Carl Dean needed her around more, it appeared Dolly was stepping back from the industry some. She went on to create a beauty line and jewelry collaboration with Kendra Scott.
Dolly also has her baking line with Duncan Hines which includes frozen treats. Plus, she and her sister, Rachel created a cookbook together so she is always keeping busy. Of course, she always had the support of Carl even if he stayed out of the spotlight. He owned his own business and was very much not into walking the red carpet. Yet, he loved Dolly and all that she did which is why their marriage lasted until death. To honor her late husband, Dolly released a song to honor him, “If You Hadn’t Been There.”

She shared the news on her Instagram page, with the cover being a photo of the couple when they were young. In the caption, Dolly Parton shared how she met Carl Dean when she was just eighteen. They were together for sixty years and it is an everlasting love. She concluded her post with this:
“He will always be the star of my life story, and I dedicate this song to him.”

An Iconic Duo
Dolly Parton and Carl Dean, despite their differences, were an iconic duo. A running joke was that many of her close friends had never met him so did he exist? He was admittedly a homebody but Dolly would go along with what he wanted. They would take road trips and eat at their favorite low-key spots.
