‘The View’ Whoopi Goldberg Back After Intense Battle With Illness
The View moderator, Whoopi Goldberg is back at the table after an intense illness battle. She had missed time and fans wondered if and when she would be back on their television screens. So, what happened and how is she feeling now? Keep reading for more details.

Whoopi Goldberg is the moderator and a staple on The View. Yet, she only works four days a week, by choice and that is because she has built up a long and prosperous career. She also has her hands in many other pots, including a production company and family businesses. Furthermore, still acts and recently worked on Sister Act 3 which is a highly anticipated film, years in the making. That day off gives her time to regroup and work on all of her other endeavors. Joy Behar has a four-day-a-week schedule and they fill in the gaps for the other.
Recently, Whoopi was noticeably absent and fans were wondering why. She did attend the SNL 50th anniversary celebration where guests came down with Covid. Steve Martin, Maya Rudolph, and Martin Short all succumbed to the virus and could not attend the recent SAG Awards. For Whoopi, she was down with the flu that has been taking everyone out. Joy let everyone know what was going on but according to Monsters & Critics, when Whoopi finally made it back, she was still struggling. To add insult to injury, Alyssa Farah Griffin was out sick so it proved how vicious this flu can be.

Whoopi Goldberg’s body was on the set of The View but she was clearly suffering all along. She could not contain her coughing but did share what it was like being laid up and it sounded aggressive:
“So, Alyssa’s out sick. I am back. I have to tell you, this flu is really awful. My bones hurt, my head hurt. Everything was hurting.”
Whoopi even noted that she had gotten her flu shot but apparently, that was not enough to keep her from the agony and pain she was in.
Alyssa’s Road To Recovery
While Whoopi Goldberg detailed her pain and suffering, Alyssa Farah Griffin shared a snap of her pups playing nurse as she was laid up. Immediately, fans rushed to her social media to share how much they missed seeing her on The View and sent well wishes for a speedy recovery:

That must be the best medicine to know that viewers and fans appreciate the work that you do and want you back ASAP. Unfortunately, the ladies do have to take time for themselves, illnesses, and other obligations so it does not always work out the way viewers would like. Fortunately, Whoopi is on the road to recovery and hopefully, Alyssa will be, too.
