She was even kicked out of a women’s center while she was pregnant. Her life continued to fall apart when some of her family passed away. But this made Dr. Now even more determined to help her.
During her episode, Irene was told to only lose 60 pounds to qualify for bariatric surgery. However, she could only drop 5 pounds. Dr. Now gave her another chance. But she left the bariatric surgery disappointed after only dropping 10 pounds. Her third attempt finally resulted in Dr. Now giving her a green light for the operation. Since then, Irene has become more dedicated to her physical journey. Her last reported weight was 535 lbs, and many of her photos today indicate that she’s still pursuing her goals.

In March 2024, she shared a series of selfies trying out different hair dye filters. In October 2023, Irene celebrated one year of being sober, proving she’s now more conscious about her health. She has yet to share her current weight. But it’s clear in her photos that she still has a lot of work to do on her physical journey.

Irene Walker also faced backlash in 2023 for lying to the fans. The My 600-Lb Life star revealed that she left her unhealthy relationship with an abusive partner and added that she has found someone new. Many fans were happy that Irene was now taking positive steps in her life. However, Irene shocked her followers after saying she lied about being in a new relationship. The reason behind her lies remains unclear.
