Was Wendy Williams’ Fainting Episode Fake?
Wendy Williams is currently trying to get out of her court-appointed guardianship. She essentially has been a prisoner since 2022 and is ready to be free but it is not easy. Williams was previously diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). It was the focus of her 2024 Lifetime documentary which seemed very exploitative. She was seen taking off her wig and showing how much her life had drastically changed. Williams was a shell of herself and it was sad to see how far she had fallen, having once been this lively and energetic force to be reckoned with.
She was put in a memory care facility but has since claimed she does not have dementia. More so, the staff at the facility has backed up her claims. They stated she can recall things from weeks before and is doing just fine. More so, she was not placed in the memory care unit for the proper reasons. Williams has been able to leave recently and go live her life but she does have a fight to regain her freedom. However, a fall from 2017 has resurfaced and fans are chatting all about it.

On her shows 2017 Halloween show, Wendy Williams was dressed as the Statue of Liberty. Out of the blue, she became wobbly, dizzy, and dramatically keeled over. Viewers were uncertain what had happened as it did look staged. Now, a Reddit thread has been started to discuss if this was all staged or if she legitimately fell. One follower posted this:
- I remember watching this when it happened. Watching the clip is hard. She looks frightened as the confusion hit. I’ve passed out before and being disoriented like that is scary. I miss Wendy.
Was She Okay?
Wendy Williams fans saw the clip from 2017, many who saw it actually happen, and believed that it was not fake. They saw her lose her balance and collapse, which was a very sad moment in time. Furthermore, they did not care for the conspiracy theories that came with the fall. Those began because Williams returned right after the break and looked shiny and new as if nothing had happened:

Some did wonder if that fall was the first sign that she was suffering from early dementia:

However, as aforementioned, Williams has stated that she is not battling anything and is perfectly fine. After she gave her interview to TMZ, she seemed just fine and shocked everyone with how cognizant she appeared. It did look legitimate but only Williams knows what really went down.
