Steve Irwin Receives Incredible Birthday Tribute From Family
World-renowned conservationist Steve Irwin passed away 19 years ago, but his family happily keeps his memory alive. His wife Terri and children, Robert and Bindi, frequently post about his impactful legacy on social media.
February 22, 2025, marked what would have been Steve Irwin’s 63rd birthday. Although he wasn’t present in person to celebrate with his loved ones, they certainly felt his spirit.

Steve Irwin’s Family & Fans Remember Him On His Birthday
Steve Irwin passed away when his children were very young. Bindi was only eight years old and his passing deeply impacted her. On A Life of Greatness, she discussed how people often made her feel worse when they tried to comfort her.
“Grief is a very funny thing where it changes over time,” the Australian conservationist remembered on the show. “But I remember when I was little and dad had just died and every adult I saw would say to me, ‘Time heals all wounds’ and I remember thinking, ‘What in the heck does that mean?’ ”
Although the grief of losing her father will never fully fade, Bindi Irwin Powell felt excited to celebrate his birthday with her own fans.
“Happy Birthday, Dad,” Bindi posted on her Instagram page, sharing a photo of her younger self kissing Steve on the cheek. “To the world, you will forever be remembered as the greatest Wildlife Warrior. To me, you’ll always be the most incredible dad and now our family’s guiding light. I love you and I miss you every day.”

The conservationist’s Instagram followers flooded the comments with happy birthday wishes and kind words for the family. Although many never knew Steve Irwin, he made a remarkable impact on fans around the world.
Bindi’s Instagram followers wrote:
- “If I could bring anyone back it would be him.”
- “Your Dad shaped who I am today. He taught empathy, wonder and much more. I wrote the zoo when I was 7. They wrote me back, and I have his autograph. I’m now a tattoo artist and I couldn’t be happier. I advocate for wildlife by the way of how I portray my artwork. Thanks Steve, love for you bud.”
- “I feel like… In a way, Steve was everybody’s dad. He made everybody smile. Everything about him was contagious.”

The Irwins Remember His Fondness For Wildlife
While Bindi made sure to include a photo of herself with her father, Terri and Robert opted to display his love for wildlife.
Steve’s wife Terri simply wrote, “Happy birthday. ❤️🐊” attaching a black and white photo of her husband holding a crocodile.
