Is Kelly Monaco Joining ‘Beyond the Gates’?
Kelly Monaco recently made her exit from General Hospital. Since then, fans have been wondering what’s next for the actress. Some fans think another soap is in the cards for her. In particular, there are rumors she could be joining CBS’ upcoming Beyond the Gates.
There Were Rumors That Kelly Monaco Would Be Joining Another Soap, Beforehand
Monaco first entered the world of General Hospital through the supernaturally-themed spin-off Port Charles, playing Olivia “Livvie” Locke Morley and Tess Ramsey. When the series ended in 2003, however, Monaco joined the main General Hospital as Sam McCall.
However, the actress ended up leaving the soap in 2024, when Sam was killed off. At the time, it was noted that General Hospital was writing off a large number of its characters. In addition, Monaco also has a few prominent reality series under her belt, competing on Dancing with the Stars and appearing on Dirty Soap.
That said, some fans are starting to suspect that Kelly Monaco could be making her return to the world of soaps. In particular, some think there could be room for her on the upcoming daytime drama, Beyond the Gates.
As noted by Soap Opera Network, there had been rumors that Monaco would be joining the cast of Days of Our Lives. After all, fans were wondering what Monaco would do next after she last appeared on the November 1, 2024, episode of General Hospital.
The publication noted that Monaco appeared notably silent on social media. However, she still occasionally chatted with fans. Notably, she hearted a post which saw actresses from The Young and the Restless dancing to “What Is This Feeling” from Wicked.
Some Fans Have Other Soaps In Mind For Kelly Monaco
That said, the publication also noted the rumors that Monaco would soon be joining the Peacock soap. However, it confirmed from a rep from the show that the rumors weren’t true.
It appears equally unlikely that Monaco will be joining Beyond the Gates, for that matter. There is no word that she is, which is notable as many names have been announced to the series so far. In fact, this has included other soap opera veterans.

Notably, the upcoming soap will star Tamara Tunie of As the World Turns fame. It was also previously reported that Jon Lindstrom and Cady McClain, both of whom have appeared on a variety of soaps, would be joining the series.
However, fans still would still to see Kelly Monaco join another series. This is likely where the rumor got its start. As many noted, there’s bound to room for her somewhere on some other soap.
A few even want Monaco to come back to General Hospital, possibly revealing Sam was still alive. On Instagram, many fans theorized which show would be a good fit for her. Some comments included:
- “I hope she gets a new role soon. I think she would be great on The Bold and The Beautiful, Young & The Restless, The Gates, or a Prime time drama.”
- “I hope Kelly goes to [Young & The Restless]. It would be great to see her working with Jason Thompson.”
- “Maybe Y&R, but they have made a lot of their cast reoccurring, so I am not sure they are hiring.”
- “We want her back @ GH, not another soap. Bring her home.”
- “Bring Kelly back to GH. We’re she belongs. She shouldn’t have been fired by F.V. in the first place. He is a terrible producer.”
