‘DWTS’ Artem Chigvintsev Talks Rebuilding ‘Ruined’ Life
Dancing With The Stars fans around the world felt shocked and appalled when news of Artem Chigvintsev’s arrest broke last summer.
His ex-wife Nikki Garcia recently reentered the WWE universe as “Nikki Bella,” leaving the public wondering about Artem’s next moves. See what he had to say in his first big interview following his arrest.
Artem Chigvintsev Says The Arrest Ruined His Life
Artem Chigvintsev joined The Glamorous Grind Podcast to discuss his attempt to rebuild his life after facing domestic violence charges last year. There are still many questions and unknowns about the day of the arrest. Both Nikki Garcia and Artem Chigvintsev have largely blamed the other party for escalating the situation.
But now, Artem is breaking his silence on the situation.

Dancing With The Stars reportedly decided not to hire Artem for Season 33 before the arrest ever happened. But once the arrest took place, Artem insisted his mug shot on display permanently damaged his reputation.
“There is nothing you can say or try to justify yourself and change their minds,” the Russian dancer recalled his painful experience. “When a person has a mugshot, you’re guilty immediately. There is not even a question of like what happened, like it’s weird because in this country I thought you’re guilty. When you’ve proven that you’re guilty, or you’re innocent until proven guilty.”
Artem went on to describe his shock and horror when the paparazzi began to gather outside the jail. He likened it to something out of a movie and felt like he was having an out-of-body experience.
“For me it completely ruined everything for me,” he continued. “From every angle. It ruined my life completely and the worst part about all of this, because the DA dropped the case, clearly stating that there was nothing that they could possibly have charged me on.”
The Russian Dancer Feels Optimistic About The Future
Artem Chigvintsev isn’t entirely sure what the future holds for him. He’s received significant support from his former Dancing With The Stars colleagues, including Maks Chmerkovskiy. Artem’s fans would certainly love to see him return to the show this fall. But until he receives any official professional dance offers, he’s dabbling in other projects, such as construction.
“It pushes me into the different areas of life that I actually always wanted to do but never really had, like the kind of like a push,” he shared on the podcast. “I love construction always have, maybe because my dad’s an engineer and he in construction, I don’t know, but it was always curious for me, like build something, you know, do it with your own hands. … I think I’ve really learned a lot about myself in the past few months. It gives me more confidence to do what I do and it makes me feel more confident about the future with, like, maybe this is what I really want to pursue next.”

Artem was tricked by NB or NG ( whatever persona she is seeking to project) into having a baby with herb and then getting married. She is a Narcissist Controller who love bombed him, got what SHE wanted, then tried to destroy him ( exp after he discovered what she was really like)! I feel sorry for Artem that he was so duped/ manipulated by her, but feel that because he is a good man, that he will land on his feet career wise and find true lasting love and have more children). All I can say is: “John Cena you dodged a bullet there)! So glad you didn’t give in to NB’s control/manipulation…you were spared another divorce! Your best revenge Artem is: Be happy and Live your best life and let karma take care of the other one! It will!
