Hallmark Star Danica Mckellar Debuts New Project

Actress Danica McKellar has been known for a variety of projects, both in the acting field and in academics. Recently, the star shared a new project she’s excited about in a new interview. In fact, the actress shared it was something she had a deep, personal connection with.
From Actress To Mathematician, Danica McKellar Has Worn Many Hats Over The Years
As an actress, McKellar’s break out role was playing Winnie Cooper on The Wonder Years. Over the years, she’s also had a notable career as a voice actress, playing Miss Martian in Young Justice and Killer Frost in DC Super Hero Girls.
In recent years, McKellar has become known for her work in various Hallmark projects. However, she has also recently joined Great American Family. For both, she prominently appeared in a variety of Christmas projects.

Outside of acting, McKellar is also well-known for writing various non-fiction books concerning mathematics. Many aim to encourage young girls to take an interest in math, such as Math Doesn’t Suck and Do Not Open This Math Book.
However, McKellar recently talked a new project she’s had in development with a conversation with People. She’s about to release a new children’s book, I Love You 100: A Counting Book Full of Love.
While McKellar’s first books were non-fiction, she’s also branched out into children’s books. Some earlier examples include Ten Magic Butterflies and Goodnight Numbers.
With her new book, McKellar shares the story of a mother and son spending a day together. In between playtime and clean-up, the mother counts the reasons she loves her child. As the book’s synopsis shares, there’s “no shortage of love,” per the book’s synopsis.
Speaking with the publication, McKellar noted this continued the trend of promoting mathematics to young readers. As she noted, “I’m passionate about demystifying math concepts in entertaining ways for kids and encouraging them to embrace their smarts — especially girls, who too often feel discouraged in math.”
The Book Also Has A Personal Connection To McKellar & Her Son
“I Love You 100 is my 12th McKellar Math book, and will mark 20 years of being a math author and inspiring kids of all ages. I’ve been blessed with countless success stories over the years, including meeting young women who have told me they used to be terrified of math but after reading my books have become engineers at NASA!”
The actress noted that she has a personal connection with the story, as does her now teenage son, Draco. She added, “I Love You 100 is incredibly special to me because it was inspired by a game I played with my son when he was young.”

“We would count to 100 together, alternating numbers and saying ‘I love you’ each time. I took the opportunity in this book not only to teach kids how to count to 100, but also to demonstrate a mother’s unconditional love to her child — no matter what the child’s mood.”
McKellar noted that, while the book teaches kids to count, it has another important message. She shared, “The importance of our children knowing deep in their gut how loved they are cannot be overstated. Whether they are happy or sad, well-behaved or acting out. And that’s at the heart of this book.”
