‘Gold Rush’ What Happened To Parker Schnabel’s Dog Dozer?
Recently on Gold Rush, Parker Schnabel welcomed a new dog into his life. This has gotten fans wondering what happened to his previous dog, Dozer. Schnabel himself has shed some light on the story on social media.
Fans Saw Parker Schnabel Get A New Dog For His Birthday On Gold Rush
Gold Rush is a Discovery series that sees various mining companies search for gold. One prominent figure of the cast is Parker Schnabel, who was given the Big Nugget mine from his grandfather.
Fans have recently noticed Schnabel has a new dog, Bosco, on the show. In the recent episode, “The King’s Mistake,” Parker explains that Bosco, a chocolate lab, was a gift from his parents for his birthday.
This has led fans to wonder what happened to his dog, Dozer, who was seen earlier on the show. Schnabel had previously shared news concerning Dozer back in 2023.
Taking to Instagram, the Gold Rush star wrote, “Dozer passed away. He must’ve had a heart attack or aneurism- so it was peaceful anyways.”
“He always had a toy and a wagging tail and was always there when someone needed cheering up (normally me). Not easy, he’s been my #1 companion for 9 years and we’ve been through a lot together.”
The Discovery Website Previously Shared Information About Dozer
The carousel post featured a variety of photos of Dozer, including ones with Parker himself. The final photo shows Dozer sharing his paw with Schnabel, effectively shaking hands with his master.
The Discovery website previously described Dozer as a five-year-old German shepherd-lab mix. He was said to be a gift to Parker from a friend in Haines.

Dozer’s description continued, “As his name suggests, Dozer is at home on a mine site and is very adventurous.” Naturally, Dozer’s name brings to mind a “bulldozer,” which are integral to the gold mining process seen on the show.
“His favorite activities are either chasing sticks or eating steak. He does both with boundless energy and enthusiasm.”
It was also noted that “Dozer is a perfect warning system for bears. He courageously chased one off the claim last year.”
At the time of his passing, Christo Doyle also shared a tribute to Dozer on Instagram. Sharing a photo with the dog, he wrote, “RIP Dozer. So sorry for your loss, Parker. You gave him the best life a dog could ever have.”

As noted by Coming Soon, Schnabel felt it was time to welcome a new dog into his life after mourning his loss. That said, Schnabel was surprised when his parents gifted him Bosco.
The new pup is said to be around four to five months old and is already potty-trained. Parker has also said Bosco has skills when it comes to fetch “except on the retrieval side.”
