‘CBS Mornings’ Gayle King Apologizes For Insulting Co-Host
Gayle King is usually pretty easygoing when it comes to her commentary on CBS Mornings. However, she made a joke on a recent episode directed toward her co-host that turned many viewers off. Gayle ended up having to apologize to Nate Burleson for what she said to him, but it turned out to be all in good fun.
Here is what Gayle said to Nate and why she had to apologize.
Gayle King Criticizes Nate Burleson’s Fashion Sense
Gayle King and Nate Burleson are the two main hosts for CBS Mornings. They have a pretty good chemistry, and Nate has proven his worth after moving on from the NFL to daytime television. Nate also works as a broadcaster for the NFL and he was working over Super Bowl weekend in New Orleans.
Nate had an interesting outfit at the Super Bowl. He wore a black ball cap and white cargo pants. However, he also wore a very interesting jacket. It was a black jacket with the right side, including streaks of colors on the front and sleeve. These colors included orange, purple, white, red, green, and blue. The letters NOLA went down the left chest area.
On the inside of the jacket was a lime green interior with artwork that included a character in a football helmet and the letters NOLA again hanging from a dream catcher.
When Gayle saw Nate in his jacket on the field, she said, “What is happening with Nater Burleson?” (via Instagram).
Gayle King Apologizes For Fashion Comments
Gayle King explained to Nate what she said when she saw the jacket. The CBS Mornings host then said that she had to apologize for the comments. According to Gayle, once she saw the jacket in person, she really liked it.

Nate pointed out some of the details on it. The N and A in NOLA on the sleeve had the NFC logos in the N and the AFC logos in the A. As Nate said, there are a lot of “deets” in the jacket’s design.
Gayle then said she “stands corrected” and called Nate Burleson the “fashionista” of the CBS Morning team. Nate seemed embarrassed, but Gayle said it was true and that she often consults him about her outfits. Gayle held up the jacket and said, “I see it in person and bravo. I apologize. I actually really like it,”
