Melissa Reeves & Matthew Ashford Are Confirmed Back To ‘DOOL’
Days of Our Lives is about to reach its 60th Anniversary and it is bringing in all the stops. Some familiar faces will be making a return. It’s recently been confirmed that this will include Jennifer and Jack Deveraux, and played by Melissa Reeves and Matthew Ashford, respectively.
Jack & Jennifer Deveraux Are A Days Of Our Lives Supercouple
Days of Our Lives first premiered on NBC on November 8, 1965. Now that it’s moved to Peacock, the soap’s sixty years are going to be celebrated this year with episodes airing this November.
Through the years, Jennifer and Jack Deveraux served as one of the soap’s famous supercouples, often dubbed “J&J.” The two have both been played by different actors over the years. However, they are most famously played by Matthew Ashford and Melissa Reeves, who are also their most recent actors.
To celebrate the soap’s sixty years, Jennifer and Jack are set to return, with both Ashford and Reeves returning in the roles. Reeves first joined the cast as Jennifer in 1985 while Ashford joined the series in 1987. Since then, both have appeared on and off the soap over the years, with them both last appearing in 2024.
According to Deadline, Ashford and Reeves will be involved with the anniversary episodes, but they are expected to appear even sooner. The soap’s supercouple will re-appear in June and recur throughout the year. In addition, their actors will appear in the show’s 60th anniversary photo this week.
The Supercouple’s Onscreen Son Also Shared Their Reunion On Social Media
Casey Moss, who played the supercouple’s son JJ, also reunited with Ashford and Reeves on social media. Taking to Instagram Stories, Moss also wrote, “Couldn’t be more grateful to be part of such a legendary family.”
Moss also shared a video on Instagram showing the three of them being filmed alongside Susan Hayes. In the comments, the “billsusanhayes” account shared, “The J Quartet. #Hortons #JnJ #JulieWilliams #JJ.”

In addition, Days of Our Lives has been teasing other returning guests for the upcoming milestone celebration. This will also include Christie Clark (Carrie Brady Reed), Leann Hunley (Anna DiMera), Chandler Massey (Will Horton), Thaao Penghlis (Tony DiMera), Victoria Konefal (Ciara Brady Weston), Charles Shaughnessy (Shane Donovan), and Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady.) Rather than overwhelming fans all at once, these returning faces will be scattered throughout the year.
In addition, Days of Our Lives also has another reason to celebrate. The soap has also been renewed for a 61st season.
