Melissa Gilbert Loves Working With Michael Landon Jr. On ‘WCTH’
Melissa Gilbert has loved working on the WCTH set. A lot of it has to do with the series co-creator Michael Landon Jr., son of her television father. Why does the Little House Of the Prairie alum say that working on the Hallmark set is “like going home”?
Melissa Gilbert Happy To Reunite With Old Friend
On Friday, People Magazine reported that Melissa Gilbert is ecstatic about working with an old friend on the When Calls The Heart set. She is talking about the Hallmark series’ co-creator Michael Landon Jr., the son of the actor who portrayed her father on Little House On The Prairie.
It’s like going home. Working with Mike Jr. is like going home.
Between 1974 and 1983, Melissa portrayed Laura Ingalls Wilder, while Michel Landon played Charles, her father, on the iconic series. Now, Landon’s son is working with Melissa and she feels the same sort of bond.
I know whatever he has me doing and saying I can trust is going to be wonderful and exciting and interesting. We’ve been friends for 50-some-odd years, and I adore him, I adore his family. I think his wife is just the greatest.
She also added, “It’s just so nice to be back in an environment where I feel completely protected, appreciated, and loved.”

LHOTP Star Portrays Georgie McGill On When Calls The Heart
In When Calls The Heart Season 12, Melissa Gilbert portrays Georgie McGill. She is forensic accounting investigator who works for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. She is a woman in a man’s world. However, Jack Wagner’s Bill Avery is the one man she went to school with that did not notice her. Or, at least she thought he didn’t.
In this season of the Hallmark series, the two are reunited. They may even be given a second chance in kindling an unrequited romance. But first, they need to get down to business. There was a great train robbery. There were some double eagle coins that went missing. Now, Bill and Georgie are trying to tie up some loose ends, figure out who is guilty, and nab the culprit!
