While Robin Roberts is widely known for her work with Good Morning America, she is also branching out on her own. She is the founder of a production company that focuses on storytelling through movies and TV shows. Now fans are reacting to her latest premiere, which honors the “Queen of Disco.”
Robin Roberts Continues To Branch Out
On Saturday, February 8, GMA host, Robin Roberts’ production company, Rock’n Robin Productions, released their new movie on Lifetime. I Will Survive: The Gloria Gaynor is a biopic movie about singer Gloria Gaynor. Notably, she is highly recognized for her hit song, “I Will Survive,” and many others, such as “The Eye Of The Tiger” and “Never Can Say Goodbye,” from the 1970s and early 1980s.

On Good Morning America host, Robin Roberts’ Instagram page, she highlights her “stellar cast and crew” ahead of the premiere. Likewise, she teases that viewers will hear “new music” from “Queen of Disco,” Gloria Gaynor, at the end of the movie. This is a story of the humble origin and fight for fame of the two-time Grammy-winning singer-songerwriter icon. Although at first she “was afraid,” her story is an anthem of surviving the odds. Likewise, her resiliency is a testament in dark times.

In the post, Robin Roberts tagged herself along with Lance Gross, Joaquina Kalukango, and the legand, Gloria. While Gloria had a huge presence in the 70s and 80s, she also appeared more recently on The Masked Singer late in 2022. Her iridescent mermaid, unmasking, was a moment fit for the diva and queen she is.
Robin Robert’s tribute to Gloria comes after she also released other productions in 2024. Robin was the executive producer of the TV series The Great War and the movie, The Harlem Hellfighters. Both were aired on the History Channel.
