‘B&B’ Matthew Atkinson Teases Anticipated Return
Actor Matthew Atkinson of The Bold and the Beautiful fame recently shared a big return with fans on social media. However, it wasn’t quite the return that fans were expecting. In fact, many fans took to the comments to share their hopes for the actor.
Matthew Atkinson Joined The Bold and the Beautiful In 2019
Atkinson made his film debut with The Blind Side. Since then, he appeared in series like One Tree Hill, Drop Dead Diva, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
In 2014, Atkinson joined the cast of The Young and the Restless as Austin Travers, only to be killed off by 2015. However, that would not be the end of his soap career.
In 2019, Atkinson would join The Bold and the Beautiful, taking on the role of Thomas Forrester. However, he appeared to leave the series in 2024.
As Soaps reported, Atkinson shared a recent “return” with fans on Instagram. However, it was not quite the return fans expected.
Atkinson and his spouse, Brytnee Atkinson, were taking a trip to Kauai, Hawaii. It was their return to the state that the actor and his spouse were celebrating. Standing in profile with sunglasses, Atkinson appeared to be looking at the Hawaiian landscape.
There’s Another Return Fans Want To See Atkinson Make
In the caption, “Hawaii, we miss you. The garden island really lived up to the hype, could totally picture the recreation of Eden here. Looking forward to getting back!”
That said, this wasn’t quite the return many fans wished to see from Atkinson. In particular, they wanted to see him return to The Bold and the Beautiful.

At this time, there are no official words on Atkinson making a return for the soap for 2025. As previously reported, fans were already concerned he would leave the soap when the series’ name from removed from his Instagram post.
By the following January, Atkinson was also notably absent from the opening credits. However, the actor reportedly is still in contact with his former cast mates. As the publication noted, he attended a recent holiday party for the series.
That said, many fans shared hope that Atkinson would one day return to the soap. Some comments included:
- “Love this pic! You are greatly missed on B&B…greatly! I hope you and your family are well. Very Happy for you! I also hope, one day, either at B&B or elsewhere you grace our screens again. You are too talented to not use the gift you were given. Much love to you and your family!”
- “B&B fans miss you! I’ve barely watched since you’ve been gone.”
- “Great picture. Please come back to Bold & Beautiful. Thomas is so missed. We are waiting on a ‘Thope’ reunion.”
- “Miss you so much on B&B… And Hawaii is all of God’s wonderful creations wrapped up into one!”
