As previously reported, Williams herself sparked headlines when she called into a radio show, The Breakfast Club. Williams’ family has also spoked out about the situation, with a legal expert suggesting they could possibly challenge the guardianship in court.

According to TMZ, a judge recently gave Williams a bit of a break from her current situation. While her guardianship remains in place, she will be allowed to visit her father for his 94th birthday celebration.

Private security will accompany Wendy from New York to Miami. She will be allowed to help her father celebrate with family and friends for two days. Afterwards, she will fly back to New York, where she will return to her assisted living facility apartment.

The publication noted they had recently interviewed Wendy for an upcoming Tubi documentary, Saving Wendy. In it, questions are asked about her guardianship. Williams herself was quoted as comparing it to a “luxury prison.” While there, she is given no internet access and seldom receives visitors.

It was also noted a judge has forbidden Williams from having any further contact with the media. The Saving Wendy documentary is expected for release on Wednesday, February 12, when it can be streamed for free on Tubi.

As previously reported, there was some concern over whether or not Williams would be allowed to visit her father on his birthday during her interview with The Breakfast Club. At the time, she shared, “I don’t know whether I’m allowed to fly to Miami to say happy birthday to my dad.” There has also been some concern that Wendy could be punished for speaking out in the interview.
