Kelly and Mark welcomed actress Lacey Chabert onto Live with Kelly and Mark this week. Lacey has been on several TV shows and moves over her career. She enjoyed her breakout on Party of Five as a child star. She appeared in Mean Girls, Black Christmas, and Not Another Teen Movie. More recently, she has become a recurring Hallmark Channel movie star, with over 40 films to her name there.

However, she got her start as a 10-year-old on the daytime soap opera All My Children, where she starred on the show from 1992 to 1993. She had a major role on the show as Erica Kane’s (Susan Lucci) daughter, which was big since Lucci was the biggest star on the soap opera.

However, it wasn’t Lucci that Chabert said she looked up to when she was on the soap opera.

Lacey Chabert Always Wanted To Be Like Kelly Ripa

While Lacey Chabert was 10 when she played Susan Lucci’s character’s daughter, Kelly Ripa was 12 years older and was playing Hayley Vaughan. This was where she met her future husband, Mark Consuelos, who was cast to play her on-screen boyfriend on the soap opera.

While talking to Kelly on the morning talk show, Chabert said that when she started playing Bianca Montgomery, the biggest thing she remembers is working with Kelly Ripa. “What I remember from the show is you,” Lacey said to Kelly. “Susan Lucci was wonderful, and it was so much fun, but I remember you. And I thought that you were just the coolest, and I was like, ‘I wanna be just like you'”

This was a very special comment for Kelly, who was honored by the memory. However, she downplayed it by responding, “And now that you’re an adult, you realize that I was struggling and the goofiest weirdo ever.” Lacey wouldn’t have it, though, and said she still wants to be just like Kelly.
