Christina Haack Reveals Raw Confessions Onscreen Were Real
Can two exes build a successful competition show together? That’s exactly what HGTV stars Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack are doing at the moment. Joined by Tarek’s new wife Heather, they’re racing against one another and the clock to successfully flip properties.
While HGTV fans enjoy seeing Tarek and Christina back in action on The Flip Off, it’s not all fun and games. Early on in production, Christina and her then-husband Josh Hall publicly announced their divorce. In the first episode, viewers watched Tarek comfort his ex-wife as she broke down in tears.
In a new interview, Christina opened up about the vulnerable moment and how she feels about it in the aftermath.
Christina Haack Confesses She Really Broke Down In Tears
Flip or Flop ran from 2013-2022. After that, Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack went on to work on their own shows. However, they stayed in touch to co-parent their children, Taylor and Brayden.
In recent interviews, Tarek admitted that he and his wife Heather had wanted to do a competition series for a while. Adding Christina into the mix was a fun, yet completely unexpected, surprise.
Despite Tarek and Christina’s long history, she never intended to fall apart in front of him. In a new interview, the mother of three admitted her tears were completely real.
“When [Tarek] came over, I had been dealing with this in real-time for a week or two, and so I was just emotional, hadn’t been sleeping,” Christina told PEOPLE about the raw situation onscreen. “And so he walks in and then I just like, it all just came out.”
“None of it was intentional, but I think it was definitely healing for both of us,” the HGTV star continued. “And I think some closure for viewers that have watched us since our mid-twenties and just seeing the real raw moment. It was very authentic and it wasn’t planned.”
Tarek El Moussa Comforted His Ex-Wife
Even though their marriage didn’t work out, Tarek El Moussa still holds his ex in high regard. She’s the mother of his two oldest children and they’ve built a real estate empire together.
“[Josh] doesn’t like me, calls me cocky. He thinks I’m arrogant. We both know I’m not cocky or arrogant. I just do work,” Christina tearfully told Tarek during the series premiere.
“You’re not any of those things. He’s projecting. You’re a great mother, you’re a great daughter. You’re… you are a great human,” Tarek assured her.
Viewers sympathized with Christina in that moment, but they were ultimately glad Tarek support her.
