Is Carrie Underwood Taking Legal Action Against ‘The View’?

Recently, The View panelists were quick to share their thoughts on singer and songwriter, Carrie Underwood. Although the big event is over, are the rumors correct that Carrie is taking legal action against several of the panelists who criticized her choice to perform?
Carrie Underwood Got Flak From The View
Undoubtedly, the United States is very divided on President Donald Trump’s reelection. But on January 20 he stepped back into office to begin a new term. When Carrie Underwood announced she would be performing for Inauguration Day, responses were just as divided. Likewise, since it was a trending topic, The View opted to discuss it as well. While Carrie believes it is time to unite the country and set aside differences, the panelists didn’t understand why she would associate with President Trump. She delivered her performance a capella after a technical difficulty. But now people are talking about Carrie suing.

Is Carrie Underwood Taking Legal Action Against The View?
Joy Behar in particular made some very strong statements against Carrie Underwood’s choices. She said, “How do you love your country and support and normalize somebody who was a convicted felon who really wants to destroy the country, in my opinion?” Furthermore, Joy was so baffled, she added, “I don’t understand how you say you love your country at the same time as you normalize this convicted felon.” But now people have heard that Carrie is taking legal action against Joy Behar and The View. After the panelists’ comments, there has been information circulating that Carrie is suing Joy and The View. However, the viral notion seems to not be true.

Where Did The Rumor Start?
Although some people think Carrie Underwood has every right to go after The View, where did the idea start she is suing them? Seemingly, the initial source was shared on the YouTube channel. From the user OkayRickk, a title surfaced, “Carrie Underwood SUES The View Host Joy Behar After She Said This On Set About Her Supporting Trump.” After having more than 384,000 views, many other media platforms took off with the idea making it more widespread.
Some outlets jumped on the train of “canceling” Carrie Underwood as well, adding fuel to the fire. Originally, Alyssa Farah Griffin suggested Carrie would make good money from her decision. But Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, and Sunny Hostin invited people to exercise their power by not buying music or tuning in for the inauguration if they disagreed. However, they didn’t encourage “canceling” the singer altogether. While there are many speculations, at this point, there is no evidence that a lawsuit is underway.
