Craig Melvin Gets Shocking Tattoo Of Co-Anchors Face

Craig Melvin made a bet with his co-anchor on a sports game and lost. He now has a tattoo of his co-anchors face, Melvin jokingly warns viewers to not gamble because they just might lose.
Craig Melvin Today Anchor
Craig Melvin, the Today Show star, learned a tough lesson about betting after losing a wager to co-anchor Savannah Guthrie. The bet, which was over a football game between their favorite teams, resulted in Melvin getting a temporary tattoo of Guthries face on the back of his neck. The bet stemmed from the NFC Championship game, where Guthrie’s team, the Philidelphia Eagles, defeated Melvin’s Washington Commanders 55-24.
Melvin, 45, jokingly warned viewers, “This is why we don’t gamble, kids!” just before the tattoo was applied on January 27, 2025. His co-workers, Carson Daly, and AI Roker, helped with the tattoo process. Daly joked about the tattoo’s staying power, recalling a time when his daughter had a fake tattoo that wouldn’t come off for six months. Melvin, laughing, seemed a little nervous about the lasting effects, especially since the tattoo was temporary. It was designed to stick around a little longer than expected.

Savannah Guthrie Eagles Fan
Savannah Guthrie was excited to see Melvin’s tattoo, which she personally approved. Holding up an Eagles logo and wearing an Eagles winter cap, Guthrie expressed her delight, saying, “Oh my god, it looks so good, Craig.” Melvin, being a good sport, joked that he would get to see it on TV later. It was a funny moment that showed the friendly competition between the two co-anchors. Melvin’s wager didn’t end with just the tattoo. He was also gifted an Eagles jersey with running back Saquon Barkley’s name on the back. Barkley played a key role in the Eagles’ victory.
The team’s triumph over the Commanders secured their spot in the Super Bowl, where they will face the Kansas City Chiefs on February 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. The game between the Eagles and the Chiefs will be particularly exciting for fans, as the two teams last met in the 2023 Super Bowl, with the Chiefs taking home the victory. That game dubbed the “Kelce Bowl,” featured brothers Jason and Travis Kelce, who played for the Eagles and Chiefs. This year’s match-up will bring even more attention to the ongoing rivalry.
With the Super Bowl approaching, Melvin is likely going to be more careful about making any future sports bets. His betting losses should be a reminder to be careful with the bets you make with friends. I’m sure he does not want any more tattoos of his co-anchor on his neck!
