‘Life Below Zero’ Troy Brockway Selling Cabin, Listed On Zillow

Troy Brockway - Life Before Zero

Troy Brockway joined the cast of Life Below Zero: Port Protection a couple of years ago, and it seems he is finished with the franchise. While he showed up and seemed unprepared for what this mission looked like, he was able to get a cabin built and seemed to be doing well. However, a new Zillow listing shows he is selling his cabin and moving on.

Here is what we know about Troy and his cabin from the hit reality TV series.

Troy Brockway Selling Cabin From Life Below Zero

A Redditor made an interesting discovery last week while househunting on Zillow. They were “Zillow shopping for fun” when they saw that Troy Blackwood had listed his “Recently Constructed Cabin” for sale on January 19, 2025. Troy was a cast member of Life Below Zero: Port Protection, arriving in 2022.

The Zillow listing reveals that Troy wants $159,000 for the Point Baker, Alaska cabin. It is 608 square feet and has one bed and one bath. The listing reads: “Your Remote Alaskan Escape Awaits: Waterfront Cabin on Northern Prince of Wales Island For those seeking solitude, adventure, and a true connection to nature, this waterfront cabin offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

It also states that it is on a “pristine point” that overlooks Summer Straight. Also, it reveals, “The hard work has already been done.” Finally, it says, “Included in the sale is a 16 ft. Lund Skiff with a 4 stroke Yamaha outboard, Honda 2200 generator, Brand new Cummins 2500, inverter, misc tools, propane range, freezer, and building materials.”

The Reddit comments about the sale show what people think about the listing:

  • “Wow, wonder how everyone that built it for him, thinks of this.”
  • “I wish Zillow had a comment section just to see what others say lol”
  • “Yeah, with real estate prices like that’s, no wonder the population of small towns are decreasing.”

Many Life Below Zero Fans Were Likely Not Surprised

Life Below Zero returned for its 23rd season in 2024. However, Nat Geo canceled it after the season started, making it the final season. Life Below Zero: Next Generation, Life Below Zero: First Alaskans and Life Below Zero: Port Protection were also canceled.

Troy might have just been there for the TV show, not because he wanted to create a home in Alaska. Now, he wants to cash out on what was done for him. When Troy first joined the show, a Reddit thread discussed him. The consensus was that he was “unprepared.” The OP wrote, “It was kind of selfish of him to move there so unprepared since he doesn’t seem to have much to offer the community.”

With him quickly trying to profit from the cabin the community helped him build, it seems that was an accurate assessment.

What are your thoughts on Troy selling his cabin after the Life Below Zero franchise ended? Let us know in the comments below.
