‘Sister Wives’ Fans Join Forces, Want To Take ‘Fraud’ Kody Brown Down
After 19 Seasons on TLC, Sister Wives viewers have no shortage of reasons to dislike Kody Brown. This season in particular has drawn ire from fans.
But can he receive legal repercussions for financially cheating his wives?
Sister Wives Fans Want Kody Brown Held Responsible For His Actions
During last week’s episode, Meri and Janelle Brown discussed how shady Kody had been about the Coyote Pass situation. They want to ensure they receive their fair share of the money. However, Kody insists he’s working on it and doesn’t believe Meri deserves an equal share anyway.
Sister Wives viewers have found the entire situation despicable and want to see Kody Brown held accountable.
“I know there is no way the OG3 can go after the money they contributed to the ‘family pot’ based on their ‘marriages,’ but what Kody did with the $$$ is blatant swindling,” a Redditor asked on the Sister Wives forums recently. “They have hours of show footage as proof. Couldn’t they sue him under fraud statutes? Call for a forensic accounting? Threaten to expose everything he did to them financially? I may have just missed it, but I’ve never seen anything in the subs about this.”
Viewers Desperately Want To Help The Ex-Wives
As much as Sister Wives viewers would like to see Kody Brown suffer the consequences of his sneaky behavior, most Redditors didn’t think there was much the original wives could do. One Reddit user even shared that they were studying to become a lawyer in a different state, but they’d absolutely help the ex-wives if they legally knew how.

Polygamy is a pyramid scheme with the man on top. If people decide to skirt the law and practice it anyway, the consequences are on them. Where it’s truly heartbreaking is the poor girls who don’t have any say in the decisions are impacted because they don’t know better until it’s too late.”
- “Sadly they chose to give him their money. Even after they saw Robyn was the only wife.”
- “I don’t think they’d have a leg to stand on because they willingly put their money into the pot. Unless they can prove coercion or being forced in some other way, no. Wouldn’t be worth the time.”
