'Deadliest Catch' Why Are Fans Calling Josh Harris An A****?

Josh Harris hasn’t appeared on Deadliest Catch since 2022. However, the figure recently became the topic of discussion in an online discussion. During the discussion, the reason why Harris left the series also notably came to light.

The TV Personality’s Past Returned To Haunt Him

Josh is the son of the late Phil Harris, who served as the captain of the F/V Cornelia Marie. At times, Josh himself has served as the co-captain of the F/V Time Bandit, as well as the F/V Cornelia Marie.

From 2020 to 2022, Josh notably appeared in the spin-off, Deadliest Catch: Bloodline. Set in Hawaii, the series’ three seasons followed Josh, Casey McManus, and Jeff Silva as they researched notes left by Josh’s father Phil.

After appearing for years on the show, Harris made his final appearance in 2022. As previously reported, Josh was fired from the series following a previous arrest coming to light.

According to The Sun, Harris was alleged to have raped a 4-year-old 20 years beforehand. He was around 15 or 16 at the time. Arrested in 1999, he ultimately pled to a lesser charges, which included immoral communication with a minor.

At the time, as noted by RadarOnline, Discovery issued the following statement: “We’ve been made aware of this issue. Josh will not appear in future episodes of this series.”

One Deadliest Catch Fan Recently Brough Up Josh Harris On The Show’s Reddit Page

Around this time, Discovery also removed all mentions of Harris from their website. Notably, references to Deadliest Catch: Bloodline were also removed.

On the show’s Reddit page, one fan, who had been watching the series’ 14th season, did not have the best impression of Harris. As they described, Josh was “the laziest so called captain of all I’m on season 14,” adding he was “on his cellphone all the time. He’s an asshole.”

Taking to the comments, other fans felt as if the original poster was in for a surprise when they learned what later came to light. One user even suggest the original poster was a “troll.”

Many comments reflect that the original poster should look up what happened to Harris. Some also showed sympathy towards his brother Jake. The comments included:

“Oh you don’t know the half of it! He’s a POS big time and that’s being nice.”
“Josh did the worst thing. No forgiveness”
“Way worse than you can imagine. I’m sure a google search will tell you what you really need to know about him. Which ironically broke on this subreddit”
