‘Y&R’ Eric Braeden Makes Tearful Return To Destroyed Home

Actor Eric Braeden recently made headlines after sharing a video of the Los Angeles wildfires right from his own backyard. Since his evacuation, the star recently made his return to the site of what was once his home.
Eric Braeden Appeared On Entertainment Tonight To Showcase His Return To His Former Home
The star, who is arguably best known for playing Victor Newman on The Young and the Restless, filmed at least two videos of the Los Angeles fire from his own backyard. The videos, which co-star Josh Morrow reportedly helped film, were then uploaded to Instagram.
In the caption, Braeden wrote, “Behind my house! The worst EVER in LA!” The star later appeared on CNN to discuss the story.

More recently, the star appeared on Entertainment Tonight, which depicted his return to where his former home once stood. As noted by Soaps, he revealed, “I left as Rogers Park was burning.” He continued that, “[The fire] hadn’t jumped the canyon yet.”
Seeing the damage, he shared, “Oh boy. Look at that. It’s all burned down, man.” Braeden had notably spent 45 years at the residence with his family.
Braeden admitted he underestimated how much the scene would impact him. He shared, “I didn’t think it would hit me this much.” He continued, “I’m devastated.”
Looking back, the star noted, “I don’t want my family to see this.” He touched on things like his son’s high school years and Christmases at the residence.
The Actor Also Revealed A Surprising Bit Of History About The House
Braeden acknowledged that he was no stranger to witnessing destruction. As he noted, “I grew up during the second World War. The destruction was the same. I always thought if that hillside there goes aflame, it could easily jump. And it never has in 45 years. And now it did.”
The star continued that, “It’s such a feeling of loss. Indescribable. It leaves you totally disoriented.”
Despite all that happened, Braeden remained optimistic. Sharing that his wife practically “built” their home, he shared the hope they could rebuild. He admitted, “We’re getting on in age, but you know.”
The actor shared that he mostly forgot what items his family was able to take with them during the evacuation. He then mused some papers and passports were grabbed, with the hope some keepsakes could be salvaged.
Braeden also revealed something special about the house. It was previously owned by a writer for Seinfeld, which he described as “one of the shows that I admired the most.” Looking back on the house, he also noted, “I knew it [was the one for him] instantly.”

My heart goes out to you and your family. We lost ours 3 years ago in wild fire in Washington. Saved our pets and very little else. No where near what you’ve lost, money wise, but still the same. As I told my nephew, who lives with me, no tears. Try to find the good parts of it. We are doing nicely but it’s been a struggle.
I have been a fan of yours since the middle 70s.
sending prayers for Eric and you family prayers so sorry for losing your home 😔 🙏🌹♥️very sad 😔
This is just so devastating. People don’t understand that just because these celebrities are wealthy and they can rebuild it’s not about the money, it’s about the memories, the sentimental value, the time they’ve spent and invested in their homes. All of which money CAN’T buy. Money is NOT everything. A fire can happen to anyone at anytime. My heart and prayers go out to everyone affected by these devastating fires.

Never, ever expected,” ( Victor Newman ) whom I have watched for 50 years, would be part of one of the worst disasters ever, and am so, so sorry for your loss . I can tell behind the almighty Victor Newman, you are just like us, with a tearful eye, in your sorrows. You have endured so much this week, and I will say a prayer, or many that you can, again, gain some much deserved ” Peace of Mind ” in your life. Prayers to you and all your family. Your the best!
