Antiques Roadshow offers a look at some incredible finds as people bring in heirlooms, family treasures, and amazing discoveries. The experts on the show then reveal the worth of these objects, and often, the guests seem amazed by how much the objects are worth. That happened with a woman who brought in a pinup painting.

This woman didn’t seem to want to let it go, even after hearing its value. Here is a look at the pinup painting and how much it was worth.

Woman Learns Amazing Value Of Painting On Antiques Roadshow

A woman brought a painting onto Antiques Roadshow and wanted to learn its value. The episode took place in Boise, Idaho, and the woman had an Earl Moran pin-up girl painting. She showed it to expert Colleen Fesko and asked about its actual value.

The woman said that the painting was at her mom’s house and had been for 10 or 15 years that she can remember. She said her mom bought it at an estate sale and paid around $200 for it. “And I’ve been begging her for this picture ever since I’ve seen it,” the woman explained.

She said she just remodeled her house and “made it all 1950s.” She then said, “I kept telling my mum: ‘So can I have the picture now?’, so finally she gave it to me.” Now, the woman wants to know what it is worth.

Fesko said that Moran, the painter, was born in 1893 and died in 1984. He started off as a “white shoe illustrator.” Moran studied art in New York, and in the mid-century, he found fame and fortune by creating pin-up calendars in Los Angeles.

Woman Wants Pinup Value Kept Secret On Antiques Roadshow

Antiques Roadshow expert Fesko asked if she had priced it before, and the woman said she had not. “And it looks really good in my house, so as to the value, no, I’ve never, never looked into it,” she responded.

“Well, Moran’s paintings are valued on a sliding scale but not the usual sliding scale,” Fesko said. “The more clothes that slide off the pin-up girl, the more valuable they tend to be. This is a very special one, she’s a lovely wholesome young girl, wearing the bright green bathing suit.”

Fesko then estimated the painting’s actual worth to be between $20,000 and $30,000 at auction. The woman laughed at the value and then said, “Is my mom going to see this? Because I’m not giving it back!”

Fesko said he would keep their secret. The woman said that was good because she looks good “on my pink wall.”
