‘Vanderpump Rules’ Katie Maloney Breaks Silence On Father’s Death
News has recently come out that Katie Maloney of Vanderpump Rules fame just suffered the passing of her father. The reality star and podcast host recently shared a statement over her loss. Many other Bravo alumni also notably sent Maloney their condolences.
Katie Maloney Shared She Felt Like A ‘Stranger To Grief’
Vanderpump Rules is a spin-off of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The series focuses on Lisa Vanderpump and her restaurant staff.
Katie Maloney was introduced in the first season as an established employee. Maloney notably appeared for eleven seasons on the reality series.
Originally a server for SUR Restaurant & Lounge, Katie now co-owns the sandwich shop and wine bar Something About Her with co-star Ariana Madix. She also hosts the “Disrespectfully” podcast.
Taking to Instagram, the reality star revealed the recent loss of her father, Rich Maloney. As she opened up her post, “feel like I am a stranger to grief. As much as it has touched my life and so many I love. It’s not something I have become comfortable or well acquainted with.”
Katie shared the news this past Friday. As she explained, “This last Sunday my father passed away. Since I have been met with a variety of emotions, numbness, peace, complete utter sadness, and even at times guilt.”
Other Members Of The Bravo Family Shared Their Condolences
“My dad was everyone’s favorite, he was so charming, made everyone feel welcome and comfortable. We shared the love of dad jokes and he had an endless supply.”
Katie noted how “supportive” her father was of her and her brothers, even as adults. As she finished her post, “Dad, I love you forever, thank you for the million laughs, for the father daughter dances throughout life and for the love you gave us. Love, your baby girl.”

As noted by Us Weekly, the accompanying photo showed Katie and her father during a recent vacation to Salt Lake City, Utah. The publication also highlighted how other members of the Bravo family sent their condolences in the comments.
The Valley’s Janet Caperna wrote, “Sending you love.” Amanda Batula, from Summer House, wrote, “So sorry for your loss, Katie.” Both posts were paired with heart emojis.
As previously reported, Katie’s brother Rocky previously shared the news of their father’s passing. At the time he wrote, “My heart hurts so bad writing this.” Rocky continued to describe their father as “an amazing person, dad, and friend.”
