‘DWTS’ Derek Hough & Family Narrowly Escape LA Fires
Dancing With The Stars judge Derek Hough and his wife Hayley are among the Los Angeles residents forced out of their homes by the fires devastating the city.

Derek Hough Manages To Capture The Blazing Hillside On Camera
Head judge Derek Hough is known for being incredibly sweet and fun-loving on the set of DWTS. But today is incredibly somber for the dancer and his family. Like many other citizens of Los Angeles, they watch helplessly as the fire engulfs the city and wait to hear news of their home.
As the fires took over Los Angeles, Derek managed to capture incredibly frightening footage.
“Just took this and can’t believe this is all happening,” the DWTS judge shared on Instagram yesterday, posting a video of fire ravaging the Los Angeles hillside.

Derek & Hayley Packed Up And Fled The City Today
Sadly, the situation only escalated from there. Derek and Hayley Hough fled their home, along with their pets.
Today, Derek uploaded a quick video to his Instagram story. His cat Otis burrows down in the suitcase as the Houghs pack the essentials and prepare to leave the home.
“He knows it’s time to go,” Derek captioned the video.
The Hough Family Escaped To Safety, Pets Included
The status of the Hough family’s home isn’t yet known. But thankfully, each member of the family made it out safely — including their cats and dogs.
Hayley Erbert Hough shared an update of her own, thanking fans for their thoughts and well wishes during this difficult time.
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out to Derek and I,” the 30-year-old shared on her Instagram stories. “We had to evacuate our home but we are safe, as a family, with our fur babies. My heart is breaking for all the people and animals who have been affected by this tragedy and those that have lost their homes. Praying and sending all my love during this time. LA is our home and I still can’t believe this is happening.”
