There is something familiar about Jeopardy! as the post-season begins. This all happened after one fan made a suggestion on something they missed from the show’s past. They didn’t expect that the game show was already working on bringing that exact design back to the series.

Here is what the show has brought back and how fans reacted to the moment.

Jeopardy! Bringing Back Hanging Letters

The Jeopardy! Instagram page released a little video that showed a person’s comment along with a shot of the post-season tournament. A person wrote, “With those JEOPARDY! letters on the ceiling made its way to the regular show too.”

The site then showed a video of Ken Jennings talking to the players and wrote in the caption, “Two steps ahead of you, my friend.” The video showed the hanging letters above the stage. This really excited some of the fans, who flooded into the comments.

  • “I love the hanging letters on the ceiling.”
  • “Man, I miss seeing those iconic letters go from red to white at the beginning of the show & the Jeopardy! round to blue to white during Double Jeopardy! round & the end of the show especially from the grid set during the Alex Trebek era. Please, please, PLEASE make it permanent for Alex’s honor.”
  • “Now bring back the original board fill sound! And the Final Jeopardy before this one!”

While people always want more, it was almost unanimous that fans loved returning the hanging letters. It is a nice way to pay homage to the past while returning to something timeless, even in 2025. While this is a nice start, the show has always seemed ready to do something to please fans, and the hanging letters might just be the start.

Jeopardy! Post-Season Underway

This is also just in time for the post-season tournament to get underway. The Second Chance Tournament got started this week. There have been some big wins so far as two people look to move on to the Wildcard Tournament next.

The first week just ended, and one bracket is finished. As a result, the first winner will advance to the Wildcard Tournament. The first finals on Friday saw Kaitlin Tarr, Colleen Matthews, and Will Yancey compete for that first spot. Will had a big lead from Thursday, with $20,000. Colleen had $8,400 and Kaitlin had $1.

Colleen and Will got Friday’s Final Jeopardy! question right while Kaitlin missed it. In “Chapter 9 of an 1851 work, a preacher in a New England port city delivers a sermon about this Old Testament prophet.” The answer was, “Who is Jonah?”

With the win, Will finished with a two-day total of $35,200. Colleen had $33,000. Kaitlin had $4,396. While it was close, Will won and he now moves on to the Wildcard Tournament. He also won $35,000 in real money for this win.

What do you think about the hanging letters from the Jeopardy! sign above the host? Did you miss it and are you happy to see it returning? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
