‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Fans Troll Player After Mistake
Wheel of Fortune fans seem a little crueler this season than they usually are. Part of the scorn is directed at new host Ryan Seacrest. Many fans are still angry that Pat Sajak retired. However, some fans are lashing out at the players, with some calling this the worst season ever for gameplay.
This happened again this week when fans mocked a woman who made a wrong guess by possibly saying a word wrong.
Wheel Of Fortune Fans Mock Player For Missed Answer
A woman named Gaelyn was playing Wheel of Fortune this week, and she seemed to have solved the puzzle. Most people at home had already guessed the term in the “food and drink” category. However, when the woman answered, she said the wrong thing, blowing many fans’ minds.
The board read: “NE- / -OR- / -HEESE-A-E.” The answer was clear, but Gaelyn quickly and confidently said, “New York Cheese Steak.” This was clearly wrong; the answer was obviously “New York Cheesecake.”
However, viewers from home were not going to let Gaelyn get away with this wrong answer unscathed, and many attacked her online (via Daily Mail):
- “Did this dumba** really say New York Cheesesteak instead of Cheesecake?!? My goodness.”
- “A new all-time horrible answer on Wheel.”
- “Oh darn… So close.”
The miss cost Gaelyn the game, and Carmetta got the answer correct and went on to win. Carmetta ended up winning over $68,000 in cash and prizes. This comes a month after another contestant, Phil, solved a puzzle by saying, “Chocolate Chestnuts and Chickens.” However, the letters of the last word showed “CHI-NE-S.” It was “Chimneys.”
Fans were unkind to him as well.
Wheel Of Fortune Fans Hating On Current Season
This was going to be a tough season no matter what since so many fans didn’t want to see Ryan Seacrest replacing Pat Sajak as host. He has fit in well to the role, but fans still want to find things to complain about. They have chosen to attack the players, too.
Many fans feel the players this season don’t regularly watch the game. Or maybe they don’t pay attention to the strategies. Some fans ask why no one flips the Mystery Wedge, even with no money to lose. They are passing up a chance for a big win.
Other fans complain that seeing triple letters left on the board without a spin causes too many people to miss out on the Bonus Round. Add in the cases of people saying strange answers that don’t fit with the letters on the board, and this season has seen more misses than usual.
